  What? Must they threaten a strike before they get what is legitimately theirs?
  The strike must come. Their Book and Research allowance must be paid as well and of course, there is no way they can take the old rates.

  The strike must come. Their Book and Research allowance must be paid as well and of course, there is no way they can take the old rates.
  Just imagine we at the polytechnic take more book and research than universities. A first degree or HND holder in the polytechnic takes book and research allowance more than a full professor at the university last year. this is unacceptable. if they do not object to this, they will take same this year. why????

  This is the Ghana we live in. You need to threaten strike action before your grievances are addressed.
  
  Mr Ablakwa, what has happened to the directives by president Mahama to your ministry to pay all students on govt scholarships in universities abroad? I know of Phd students who are lecturers at one of the universities in Ghana currently studing at universities in Sydney and Melbourne who have been kicked out from their hall of residences in Australia for failing to pay their rents.
  This is a big disgrace to Ghana govt and totally unacceptable to put your scholars in such a situation.
