  They are the most criminals in the history of Ghana. They have not been paying taxes for such a long long time. And NPP came to power, things became even worse than anything. Check them very well, most of those importers are NPP supporters who had the opportunity start bringing in everything in Ghana, even toilet papers by getting loans from Bank during NPP era, as a result, they cheated the government for not paying tax at all just for them to be able to cover their debts. Bow that we have the right government in power, they feel their right is abuse forgetting that they were not following the right procedure.

  the checks/Task Force must stay. Prez Mahama, please dont't listen to them... they pay very little on under age cars they import into the country but blame their high prices on Duty... "eye duty noooooo"

  It is the private sector that creates jobs in the country and govt. must support and facilitate business in order to lift people from poverty.Ghana has the highest tax paying duties for goods in the whole West Africa,why?Our govt has the moral responsibility to help businessmen develop faster.It is counter productive for govt. to cripple private business.It is also about time we construct a new sea port because the volume capacity of business is growing faster.These private businessmen if given the opportunity can build a new sea port,that's how to develop a country.Thank you.

  WHAT CAN THE CLEARING AGENTS DO THAT THE ORDINARY IMPORTER CAN'T DO? THE BASIC QUALIFICATION FOR CLEARING AGENT IS PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE.
  
  ALL THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS TO DO IS TO PROVIDE IMPORTERS INFORMED FRAMEWORK FOR CLEARING GOODS AT THE PORTS. ALL IMPORTERS ARE VERY INTELLIGENT AND CAN CLEAR THEIR OWN GOODS AND PAY THE NECESSARY DUTIES TO GET THEIR GOODS OUT WITHOUT A CORRUPT UNEDUCATED MIDDLEMAN.
