By the executive and legislature especially championing a bill to block all such loopholes, and that way there will be no legal umbrella to accomodate anyone who flouts that in the future. How long ago has it been since this Jake issue occured? Well over 4 years and till date have you heard anyone in parliament fighting to push a bill that will make it illegal for sitting ministers or whatever to be able to buy public property? NO. Some Directors and managers ask companies to give them brand new vehicles when it is about just 4 months for them to retire. They retire and go home with the car at ridiculously cheaper prices. That has been part of the rot in our society for a long time. Sakumono estates were also built to house Parliamentarians during Rawlings ere but then, the first batch of MPs who were housed there found ways of going around it and purchased these houses when their term expired. The rot is everywhere.
He have to accept that despite all these, once the court has ruled in favor of Obitsebi, Nii Lante should vacate the place. That is the rule of law. Is he not a lawmaker now?

The laws of Ghana is an enabler in this regard, and till date (after 4 years or so)has any parliamentarian or leader shown the political will to push forward a bill/legislation to make such purchasing of public property by sitting ministers a thing of the past? After having been on here for a while, i am beginning to see his frustration. So many of the commentators on here fail to see beyond NDC/NPP. They argue and insult blindly. He must be either naive or stupid to adopt such an entrenched position. Is his position a taste of what Ghanaians are to expect in the event the Supreme Court rules in favour of the petioles in the 2012 election saga? The Attorney General should be seen to be up and doing by advising Niigata Lantey to respect the court's ruling. Prez Mahama will do well to either sack Niigata Lantey from his cabinet to make an example of him to send out a strong message of his respect for the law, or force him to vacate the property.
Niigata Lantey's stance backs Anita De Soosoo's views that the NDC is a revolutionary party and its members can therefore do as they please whereas the NPP rules by the letter of the law. These NDC hood winks have no regard for the laws of Ghana and are not fit to govern law abiding Ghanaians.

And they turn around to scheme us that, they want to build housing for police, etc. Even in some of these bungalows and quarters, there are officers who have occupied two or more bungalows to house their relatives and renting some they have illegally acquired, and they turn around and say, we want to build more housing for government officials.

The children are then named after an ancestory great or popular person in the family.

Having half cast children was back in the day regarded prestigious and a lot of women in Accra and the southern coastlands flocked to these white-skin foreigners to have children with them. That is the result or bye-product of such relationships between ghanaian women and white-skin foreigners - a light skin child like Jake, was one such bye-product. The white-skin foreigners mostly did not go ahead to marry these ghanaian ladies because of the shame it brought to the white-skin family and therefore aandoned the children.

All government appointees - ministers, deputies and party officials, heads of the civil service, state organs, corporations and enterprises, etc, should provide for their own accomodations. We are not a socialist state any more. Kwame Nkrumah's socialist CPP had the state property philosophy. They confistigated Accra and other regional capital lands and mismanaged them. Those bungalows were an eye sore until the NPP in their wisdom (property owning democracy), decided to auction them off for individuals to own and maintain them. Those that could afford, bought them. In so doing, today these areas are well kept and are the most beautiful residential parts of the cities. Get your own, buy or rent.

Nobody is even questioning why our politicians are interested in government properties to the point that they are buying our properties and within the shortest time they arranged for all the needed documents and they become the owners. On the contrary, when one tries to register his land it takes him/her years, even after one has been forced to pay bribes unwillingly.

I think most of the commentators on this issue of politicians using thievery strategy to steal our national properties in the name of buying it/them will come out to condemn and rebuke such character of the politicians, - Obetse Lamptey so that others could stop taking our properties through the smart stealing way of buying it/them

On matters of this nature, tribalism or ''my party'' syndrom should not be given place in our national discusion of polticians stealing our properties via the stealing plan of I BOUGHT IT/THEM.

The strategy the NPP used to grab all these properties of ours looks very sad indeed, since many of our Ghanaian population do not know what is happening to our national wealth. To make my writings clear, the NPP MP for Adansi Asokwa constituency K T Hammond and other NPP guys used the same stealing strategy to steal the land on which stands the Accra International Students Hostel in the Airport Area. Today that land which used to belong to all of us, is now in the hands of the above mentioned NPP man and his party men. Naturally these practises are sad to mention, but I know the heavens will call for judgement in the future, and all these cheats and thieves will be harshly and terribly dealt with by God. Obetsebi Lamptey, personally about the way you used to acquire our national properties looks very very shameful as every Ghanaian with rational mind can really see the stealing spirit in you which has in a way expose you to laughter.

About Nii Lantey's occupation of the very bungalow, he can move out if the authority that put him there demands that. Primarily, the problem is not Nii Lantey, but is the stealing strategy used to steal our national properties. Let us all get on board and chase out this greedy and selfish spirit which has possesed our nation, and caused those to rule us to be now stealing our properties with the little possible chance.
