"northeners are underdogs in the knowledge industry".
I'm nobody to disagree with Sheikh (a noble man of God), but I'm an Ashanti who grew up with northeners and I still find it sad that I didn't marry one of them. Northerners are one of the most intelligent people of Ghana and have studied more than most tribes. The only hindrance is that it's under-developed financially as compared to other areas in Ghana. This makes it difficult for most parents to educate their children. Besides that, northeners are never underdogs in the knowledge industry.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

He graduated from the University of Ghana in 1967 with a B.Sc in Economics. Nana trained as a lawyer in England and was called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in 1971 and the Ghanaian Bar in 1975.

Under President Kufuor, Nana served as the Attorney-General and Minister for Foreign Affairs. He was the flagbearer of the party in the 2008 elections and was again elected in 2010 to be the flagbearer of the party in the upcoming 2012 elections.

Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. While is reasonable to pray for peace in this special month for the whole country as been suggested by the sheik, I disagree with his line of reasoning that Bawumia brightened the north with his so called "You and I were not there" argument. Is this the first time we are seeing a northerner distinguishing himself? What about the likes of Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Hudu Yahaya, Haruna Iddrisu, etc. These are also northerners who are muslims. I have mentioned those names because i wanted to make the point that sheik is either bias or has problem of recognising in whole the numerous northerners who have made mark on the landscape of the country. It is bad to say that only northerners who are muslims need to be recognised as he has tried to do. No matter how Bawumia try's you can't match with John Mahama who used just 40 days to out-campaigned Bawumia and his boss.

I lived and studied with most Southerners and what I realized was that Southerners has a lot of respect for we Northerners when it comes to education and knowledge, that is the fact. If the speech of the Sheikh is about our muslim Brother Bawumiah I will understand but iif it is about Northerners as a whole then I think the Sheikh should commend our president too for his patience and honesty as well as hardworking, likewise the late Aliu Mahama. To single out Bawumiah alone as the only simple of intelligence in the North is very unfortunate.

You would also be surprised to note that some Northern tribes also look down on Southners and call them names. I lived and worked at the North and can bear testimony to what I am saying.
Until quite recently, when it comes to honesty and hard work, the Northners were the best. But now they are becoming the worst in all forms of crimes especially armed robbery. When it came to book and pen robbery, Southners were the best but things are changing. Both Northners and Southners are the same. We however have to admit that Bawumia was impressive at the SC. Almost every serious crime going on in Ghana,you hear somebody from the Northen part of Ghana is involved,i don`t know whether they allowe themselves to be used,or the act on their own.
Recently all the burnings of the NDC party offices are happening in the Northern part of Ghana.Can`t the Northerners settle their grievances peacefully?
God help those who help themselves.
