Whether he is an NDC or NPP (MP) the so-called trio involved in the Thursday’s vandalism must answer before the investigative police in the said region and when found guilty, face the law like everyone else, period. So, please stop such caption like the NDC this and the NPP that before the masses. What is wrong is wrong, whether be it an NDC member or that of an NPP. The full rigour of the law must reign on their heads. It is quite funny that the police hunting for them are not labelled as the NDC police this time around, huh? The constituency secretary Joseph Wombe, should report to the police if he is convinced of his innocence, and he should be advised that the national NDC has nothing to do with their arrest and prosecution, if found guilty. The politics of impunity should be consigned to history. They should answer the charges and if the MP was found guilty he should be stripped of his position and jailed. He should not claim any immunity. We need to clean the party for JDM to have the peace to carry out the Better Ghana Agenda.

If these individuals are found culpable in the recent senseless vandalism that has characterised the reactions of so-called "NDC youths" to the government's business of running district and metropolitan assemblies, they must be dealt with, with the full force of the law.

No matter what your grievances, lawlessness and inciting such acts cannot and must not be tolerated anywhere in our society. For this to be occurring under this ruling government is a complete disgrace in my view. It is worsened by any involvement by people who should know better including law makers.

If it turns out that a sitting member of parliament (and a district secretary of the NDC party) were involved in instigating or fueling what was after all a criminal offence, then in my opinion, such a person is not fit to represent any constituency as a law maker and must be sanctioned by parliament. If found guilty in law, then why should they continue to remain in parliament?

It is my firm view that all members of society (irrespective of party, class or station) must understand that for a nation such as Ghana to move forward and meet its obligations to its people, there is no alternative to law, order and proper and sensible civil approaches even to disagreement of any sort.

Resorting to vandalism and violence is a recipe for anarchy and disaster and that is not the way to run a district, metropolis or government,

It is certainly not the way to seek redress for grievances and Ghana cannot go down the route of failed states such as we see around us in Africa and elsewhere.

It is wholly hypocritical of the NDC to brand the NPP a "lawless bunch" when their "youth" or sections of their supporters take to the streets to seek redress and then turn a 'blind eye' when NDC thugs do the same.

I hate to think that we are back to the 1980s when so-called PDCs and WDCs wielded so much undemocratic power that they could go anywhere and seize things or take over offices and peoples homes etc.

This style of doing things is not only primitive, it does not show that the government is in control, nor does it bode well for our democracy. For a member of parliament or political operative to be implicated in such lawless acts is doubly disgraceful.

The government must sort this out and demonstrate that they are truly in charge and working for the COUNTRY, not a few people who think the country (or even the district) belongs to them.
