Why are these pastors and self-styled prophets not predicting things that affect the daily lives of hard working people and why don't they spend time begging God to help them show us how we can get better as a nation? Why are all their 'prophecies' about elections?

I have never believed that God interferes in our elections despite the influence that some pastors have on their congregations in terms of who they should vote for.

If readers would recall, in the United States in the last two elections cycles for president and congress, the so-called 'Christian Right' made it categorically clear who they were supporting and I recall people like Kenneth Copland telling pastors to go tell their congregations to vote for the 'other side'.

In the 2012 US elections, I recall a number of Black commentators take on Billy Graham (and his son and heir, Franklin) for their positions on the elections and endorsement of Mitt Romney against Barack Obama.

There were 'prayer camps' in America with pastors praying and fasting and making FALSE, yes ridiculously false 'prophesies' and predicting all sorts of rubbish!!! They were asked a simple question - Billy Graham was asked if he thought that the Bible he was using and that the Christianity he believed in was different from that of the rest of us and the "Black church"?

I ask the same question - Is the God that the NPP is following different from that of the NDC? When will these pastors ever learn that even the American pastors that they have been following with their dogma on elections, freedoms, governance and who is best suited to run the country (under God), is a failed and futile exercise of religious bigotry and zealousness not different from that of the Pharisees and Sadducee at the time of Christ?

I simply refuse to accept this nonsense that keeps coming from people who only know how to be led by others, but have not ceased to 'drink milk' that "these are men of God and we should be careful not to criticise or attack them". Absolute nonsense!!! Id these so-called men of God are making utterances that are not from God, should we allow them to get away with it?

Do they have a monopoly over the Word of God? Gone are the days when only "men of God and prophets" had access to the scriptures and held sway. Folks, let's stop drinking milk and start behaving like mature people of faith!!!
