Krikri, please remember that NPP, NDC and all the other political parties DID NOT have the mandate to organise the elections. The laws of Ghana had mandated Afari Gyan and the Elect. Commission to do so. If something went wrong in the two polling booths, as you may suspect, the blame rests on Afari Gyan and the EC. and nobody else.

Remember that when Tsikata was cross examining Bawumia, he brought about fraud in NPP stronghold but quickly retreated when he realised that he was rather proving the case for the petitioners that whole election was marred with fraud.

For his information, the supreme court is not one of the rubber stamp sycophantic institutions and individuals, who litter his administration in droves upon droves. Theirs (ie the most esteemed Justices of the supreme court) is a trial of facts carefully scrutinized and applied against the laws and our constitutional provisions as well as precedents based in law, and not, I won, I won confirm me, I won, in the face of glaring, monumental, humongous across board cases of violations, omissions, malpractices and irregularities. Ghana is going to set a very good example, and send a very loud and clear warning to all and sundry that, thievery of any kind, from our politicians, from this time onwards would be punished severely not by the barrel of the gun, but by, the RULE OF LAW, underpinning any successful democratic society. We would continue to urge him to confess like he did that, we(he) doesn't have any option than to accept the verdict.

There is absolutely no need for the president to make such a statement at this crucial stage when his legal representatives have made his point in court.

I personally prefer him to keep his personal feelings and thoughts on the election to himself, and to make any statement after the ruling.

There is no doubt that it is clear neither he (the president) nor his party (the NDC) 'rigged' the elections; neither were any of them in collusion with the EC to 'rig' the elections!!

Even the petitioners know that and have long ceased from that ridiculous accusation and did not include it in their pleadings. Their focus is now on errors, omissions etc (what they regard as irregularities which in their view were gross and significant to affect the results).

My own view is that such errors, omissions and administrative 'lapses' though occurred in some cases, were more likely uniformly spread, affecting constituencies won by both he (the president) and Nana Addo (the NPP candidate). i also believe that these were not of such "gross and significant" proportion as to have affected the elections, and that his election was indeed the will of the people of Ghana.

It is a pity that he and his party have not been allowed to 'celebrate' their victory and to have a clear path to doing their work for the country. However I would like to see him remain tough, firm, resolute and focused on the national task. That is what matters.
