In real sense, Ghana under the NDC of contemporary government, led by Dramani Mahama has TWO Finance Ministers in the persons of Seth Terkper and Fifi Kwetey.

Clumsily, Mahama's pseudonymous re-designation of the office of Fifi Kwetey could not and will not conceal the functions of the latter as one of the Finance Minister.

Notwithstanding this position of two Finance Ministers (of one nation), the NDC is still incapable of prudently managing the economy.

Even if they are more qualified than the Finance Minister, he is the one the President appointed and we MUST all assist him to succeed. If you think he is not doing well, offer suggestions. Do NOT just open your mouth and condemn him. It is like football; many people among the spectators think they can do better than those on the field - put them in and you have total disaster on your hands.

But as far back as 15 or more years ago that I got to know Mr. Terkper, he is found of talking only about taxes and not coming with any meaningful agenda of how to manage economy.

How on earth will an economist imposed taxes on cutlass (the main implement) our village folks rely upon to bring food in their small way to the public; imposing taxes on condoms to deny people sex or just to set a death trap to millions of people by infecting with HIV; Mr. Terkper is out of touch with the poor in our society. I think, he should have set his tax agenda on acholic beverages, cigarettes and especially on those galamsey (gold) operators who are poluting our rivers, streams and forest with deadly chemicals.

He need to rethink to find ways and means to create a meaningful and friendly environment for entreprenuers to create jobs for our jobless population. Any agenda beside job creation will be a fetile atmosphere for foreign individuals with money to enter into the country and entice the jobless population to cause political upheaval and plant their ideology on the weak minds among us. Because of inertia forces, incremental change is often no chnage. Those whose power is threatened by change can too easily resist incremental change. That is why the big bang theory of change is often the effective change factor which maintains that effective change requires taking bold action early to unfreeze the established culture of an organization and to change the distribution of power and influence.

Once an orgaization has been unfrozen, it must be moved to its new state. Movement requires taking action- closing operatios,; reorganizing te structure; reassigning responsibilities; changing control, incentive and reward systems; redesigning processes; and letting people go who are seeb as an impediment to change.

That is how real effective and productive change is brought about.

That said; I don't agee with taxing inputs that are required for production. Investments must be tax free. You cannot overtax peopel and expect an eficient economy. That is stupid Mr. Terkper. The easiest way to onstrain an economy is needless taxation.

My concern is, I feel very sorry for people out there who keep criticizing just for the fun of it and yet have no clue if given the chance to take over. These fools will have no hiding place on earth than to perish in their folly in Ghana if they destroy the country.

Do you guys think governance is a one day trip to Kumasi and back? How long has he been there?
