Whilst NPP is trying it's BEST to be an Akan party by promising ministerial post to all Akans, like in 2000 and 2004, NDC is getting all Ghanaians involved. I'm not a supporter of neither party but I saw how tribally corrupt the NPP was. Beside Akans, there are a lot of Ghanaians with Ph.Ds and smart who can hold non-regional ministerial positions. How many ministerial positions went to non-Akan Ghanaians during the Kuffour presidency? Yet Northerners support the NPP in more numbers than people in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Eastern Regions. Until NPP leaders realize that all regions are part of Ghana and include them in the running of the country, they'll always be alienated by several people, so much like the Republicans of USA
