Neither does Ghana need illegal galamsey judges in the judiciary. By this I mean, judges must have the temerity to recluse themselves from cases in which their family members and political friends/patrons are involved directly or indirectly . This will protect the dignity of the judiciary. Ghana also does not need judges who use their powers to intimidate and yell at persons who appear them. It is indeed judicial galamsey for a judge to use his position to blatantly violate a person's human right to be treated with respect and dignity no matter the gravity of his/her offense.

Sad, why this fall-out and why at this time when the whole concern-world is watching you? Are you angry, Justice Atuguba? I see that you're exercising the same things that made (prompted) those people treat the court with contempt, (they even did that). Is democracy not a painful exercise? What of 'freedom of speech', even in such a fragile democracy as ours? My take on this is that, if Obama and Michelle were in your position they would have charged about more than a third of Americans in the Tea-party' with contempt. Democracy pains, justice.

IF ANYTHING THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD HAVE ENGAGED THE NATION'S SECURITY TO ARREST WO. AMEDEKA TO BRING PEACE ALSO. WE CAN RECALL THAT THE FOUR SOLDIERS WHO WERE ALL UNDER KOJO TSIKATA, AS SECURITY CHIEF HAD TO KILL AKAN JUDGES FOR THE SELFISH ENDS OF THE PNDC GOVERNMENT. THOSE WERE THE LATE DZANDU, SENYA, TEKPOR AND AMARTEKWEI A GA AND A MEMBER OF THE THEN PNDC. AS AT NOW NOBODY HAD COME OUT TO INVESTIGATE SUCH HORRIBLE EXECUTION AT A BONDASE MILITARY RANGE AND WE HAVE SUPREME COURT NOT TRYING TO USE THE SECURITY TO GET TO AMEDEKA. GHANA CANNOT BE OK, UNLESS CERTAIN INVESTIGATIONS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT. ANYWAY THE SUPREME COURT HAD DONE WELL TO CALM NERVES DOWN IN THE COUNTRY.

Addison Lawyer Address
Lead Counsel for the petitioners in the 2012 election petition case, Phillip Addison, has stated that he feels a great sense of relief, now that the case is coming to an end.
After several months of hearing, the Supreme Court is expected to give its final verdict on the 29th of August.
Granting his first media interview on the case with Citi News, Lawyer Addison described the whole process as a wonderful experience.
“We have been on this case since December and the news that the Supreme Court is expected to give its final verdict on the 29th of this month [August] comes as a great relief. It is a wonderful experience to be lead counsel for this case and I am privileged,” he said.
Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, who is also one of the petitioners, has stated that they (petitioners) will accept the verdict of the Supreme Court come August 29.
“We just have to be patient and wait for the Supreme Court’s final verdict,” he said.
“If the court rules in our favour we will just be happy but if it doesn’t we will just move on and accept the Supreme Court’s final verdict.”

DEAR PUBLIC READERS OF GHANAWEB.COM,
IT IS A FACT,FACTUAL TRUTH AND A TRITE KNOWLEDGE THAT IT IS THE PRINCIPLE UNDERPINNING "KNOWLEDGE AS EXPERIENCE" THAT IS THE KEY TO "PROBLEM SOLVING" AND NONE OF US CAN RUN AWAY FROM THAT FACTUAL TRUTH.
THAT THE LATE FORMER VICE CHANCELLOR OF UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY NOW KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY THAT I AM RESPECTFULLY PLEASED THAT I HAVE ATTENDED WHEN UNDERTAKING MY FIRST DEGREE, OF COURSE, THE SAME UNIVERSITY THAT THE FORMER UNITED NATIONS SECRETARY GENERAL NOW CHANCELLOR OF UNIVERSITY OF GHANA, LEGON, KOFI ANNAN ALSO ATTENDED AND THE SAME FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND OTHERS THAT THE LATE FORMER VICE CHANCELLOR F.O.KWAMI POSTULATED THAT "ANY EDUCATION OR ITS RELATED EXPERIENCE ACQUIRED CANNOT BE USED TO SOLVE ANY RELATED SIMILAR PROBLEM(S) IS NO EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE ACQUIRED".
IT IS AT THESE RELATED BACKDROPS THAT I AM RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTING THAT GHANA OWN RELATED "DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ON MARCH 6, 1957 BY HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II AND LATER ON GHANA ATTAINMENT OF THE STATUS OF REPUBLIC ON JULY 1,1960 BY THE PASSAGE OF THE CONSEQUENTIAL ACT" CLEARLY PROVIDED A CLUE FOR GHANA TO DRAW REFERENCE OF RESOLVING GHANA 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS PETITION CHALLENGE THAT THE LEAD COUNSEL FOR THE PETITIONERS PHILIP ADDISON MADE THE REMARKS PUBLISHED ABOVE THAT HE WAS RELIEVED THE CASE IS ENDING.
IT IS IN THE LIGHT OF ABOVE THAT I AM RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTING THAT THE TWO (2) ACTS OF GHANA NAMELY AS FOLLOWS:
(i) DECLARATION OF GHANA INDEPENDENCE ON MARCH 6, 1957
(ii) THE PASSAGE OF THE CONSEQUENTIAL ACT THAT GAVE GHANA THE STATUS OF REPUBLIC
ARE CLEARLY TWO SEPARATE AND DISTINCT ACTS THAT OCCURRED UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES.
IT IS THEREFORE MY RESPECTFUL AND CANDID SUBMISSION WITHOUT ANY PREJUDICE WHATSOEVER, THAT THE TWO (2)ACTS ARE/WERE CLEARLY DISTINCT, SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT AND ALSO OCCURRED UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES OF TIME FRAME PERIODS.
THAT AS I HAVE ALWAYS POSTULATED THAT I HAVE FULL FAITH, CONFIDENCE AND TRUST REPOSED ON OUR DEAR LORD JUSTICES OF THE SUPREME COURT TO DO JUSTICE THAT WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE TO ALL THE PARTIES AND ALSO BELIEVED THAT GOOD COUNSELS OR LAWYERS USING THE STRONG ARSENALS OF GOOD ADVOCACY SKILLS AND LEGAL RESEARCH THAT MAKE THE JUDGES WORK EASY IF NOT VERY EASY. THIS IS BECAUSE COUNSELS WOULD MAKE AVAILABLE ALL THE RELEVANT LAWS AND RELEVANT SETTLED LEGAL PRECEDENTS AS AUTHORITIES OF THEIR RESPECTIVE CASES AND THEREFORE REDUCED CUMBERSOME BURDEN PLACED ON THE JUDGES AND MAKE THE WORK VERY EASY.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED.
GOD BLESS GHANA AND LONG LIVE GHANA AND AMERICA FRIENDSHIPS.

Bravo Brother! Some Ghanaian politicians are indeed practicing illegal politics. Otherwise, Why would a General Secretary of a Party behave as if he has more power than the Party Chairman, the Chief Justice and even the President of the country? Something is seriously wrong with Ghanaian politics. Thank God it took a real man like Justice Atuguba to clip the horns of the NPP General Secretary especially. Thank you Justice Atuguba for putting them in their place. Respect our Leaders or pay the price. One cannot imagine what things will be like if Justice Atuguba becomes the Chief Justice. I cannot wait. Better yet. Atuguba for President and he will become an instant Front Runner. Arrogance always has its price. So is its hand maiden, contempt of court, as we have just seen. God Bless Justice Atuguba for sowing the seed of permanent peace in our beloved Ghana.

Top 5 Tips for Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur
The following are some tips for becoming a successful entrepreneur based on my experience of building a company from the ground up, leading New York City as mayor, and founding a philanthropic organization.
1. Take risks.
Life is too short to spend your time avoiding failure.
In 1981, at the age of 39, I was fired from the only full-time job I'd ever had - a job I loved.
But I never let myself look back, and the very next day I took a big risk and began my own company based on an unproven idea that nearly everyone thought would fail: making financial information available to people, right on their desktops. Remember, this was before people had desktops.
In 2001, when I was debating whether to run for mayor, most people advised me against it. They all were afraid I’d fail. But one person said: “If you can picture yourself giving a concession speech, then why not go for it?” That was the best advice I received – and I followed it.
In order to succeed, you must first be willing to fail – and you must have the courage to go for it anyway.
2. Make your own luck.
Luck plays a part in success, but the harder you work, the luckier you get.
Whatever you choose to do, even if it’s not the job of your dreams, always work hard at it. Be the first person at work in the morning and the last to leave at night. Hard work creates opportunities where your resume cannot.
3. Be persistent.
Persistence really does pay off.
When starting my company, I would go downtown and buy cups of coffee. Then I’d take the coffee up to Merrill Lynch – our target audience – and walk the hallways.
“Hi,” I would say. “I’m Mike Bloomberg and I brought you a cup of coffee. Can I talk to you?”
Even if people were wondering who I was or where I came from, they still took the coffee.
And I kept coming back, day after day, working to build relationships with potential customers. I learned about the audience for our product and what they could really use.
Three years after starting Bloomberg LP, Merrill Lynch purchased 20 terminals and became our first customer.
4. Never stop learning.
The most powerful word in the English language is “Why.” There is nothing so powerful as an open, inquiring mind. Whatever field you choose for starting a business – be a lifelong student.
The world is full of people who have stopped learning and who think they’ve got it all figured out. You’ve no doubt met some of them already – and you’ll meet plenty more.
Their favorite word is “No.” They will give you a million reasons why something can’t be done or shouldn’t be done.
Don’t listen to them, don’t be deterred by them, and don’t become one of them. Not if you want to fulfill your potential – and not if you want to change the world for the better.
5. Give back.
You are ultimately responsible for your success and failure, but you only succeed if you share the reward with others.
At the end of the day, ask yourself: “Am I making a difference in the lives of others?”
My first charitable donation was a $5 check to my alma mater, Johns Hopkins, not long after I graduated. I was just scraping by back then, but I continued to give. And while the checks may be bigger today, they come with the same spirit. You don’t have to be wealthy to give back. You can give back by getting involved and giving your time and talents. You just have to be committed to opening doors for others.

Hmmm, Justice Atuguba's utterances indicate one thing - he is increasingly becoming an autocrat. We must draw his attention to this and take necessary steps to stop him on this before it is late. Had Ghanaians had the boldness to draw Afari-Gyan's attention and to stop him, there might not have been the alleged elections fraud, alleged compromise and cover-up attempts; and so there might not have been the ongoing court issues that are weighing on Ghana and Ghanaians.
WE MUST STOP HIM FROM BEHAVING AUTOCRATICALLY BEFORE IT IS LATE.

Why don't you deal with yourself when you are in a clear conflict of interest sitting on a case in which the main respondent employs your nephew. Talking of a bloated ego; why do you want people to come and beg you when they only engage in their God given freedom of expression. When you are seen and observed as being biased in open court, you want to intimidate people from voicing what is obvious.
Have you summoned any NDC followers for the odious statements they have been making on the airwaves? Are you part of the solution of stopping criminals robbing the country camouflaged as Politicians or are you going to facilitate that looting while majority of people in your part of the country wallow in abject poverty? You refer to the elections of 2000. Why didn't you refer to the 2008 elections when Atta Mills and his NDC buffoons threatened to bring the Kenyan mayhem to Ghana if they lost the elections. With this statement of yours, you have laid your Political colours bare on the bench. Any serious Goverment that seek to advance the rule of law shouldn't be given people like you a chance to subvert the law.

In a country like Ghana, where nepotism still thrives, we do not still understand why on earth wisdom will so ELUDE the NPP - petitioners - as to accept Justice Atuguba, believed to be an uncle of one of the members of Mahama's team, to be on the SC election fraud decision board and even to head it. We still doubt the ability to deliver fair justice.
We further think that the summons are intimidation designed to instill fear in the people; and is a prelude to an unfair judgement.

You do not know your rights so you think everybody should be like you. Stature is not important. He is a human being whether he is black or white, short or tall. What is important is that he is standing up against what he claims is injustice against him and his party. All logical and neutral people the world over, reason with him as with anybody who has the courage to do so. Unwise people ridicule those who stand up for their rights. There were many people like your type in Ghana in the ancient days, who failed to fight their rights. that is why (y)our ancestors who failed to fight for their rights were taken into slavery. That is why (y)our ancestors who failed to fight for their rights were colonised. Learn to support those who stand up for their rights, whether you like them or not, and you will see how Ghana will become progressive. If the average Ghanaian, including you, will learn to stand up for his/her rights, you will see the sea of progress that will come. It is not only between us; even the Europeans will also respect us more than they do today.

Ghanaians must have the courage to speak against the AUTOCRATIC dispensations of Justice Atuguba. In fact, he deserves to be impeached and removed for overstepping his limits. He is increasingly becoming an autocrat, and lashing out sentences based on ambiguous laws. For how long will Ghanaians remain cowards, refusing to defend even their own rights???
Can Atuguba explicitly provide the legal basis on which he is handing out his sentences??? The silence of those who must speak, is almost always the breeding grounds for grave errors.
