This Ken Koranchie thing is simply demented. You see it in almost all his submissions and utterances. The work of Ayikoi Otoo has been hugely acclaimed as the best and that the very arrogant and unduly frontal advocacy of Atta Akyea is what brought him his woes. Well if he says he still prefers Atta Akyea, so be it. After all a fool will be a fool no matter his academic background of personal experiencies.

Reckless Comments: Let Akufo-Addo resign first before… - Arthur K
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party is surprised at the call for the party's General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, to resign for making irresponsible comments.
Arthur Kennedy says Sir John cannot be asked to resign when the party's 2012 flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo, who he deemed to have made an equally irresponsible comment, in the infamous All-die-be-die mantra, is still at post.
He said an irresponsible comment is "a political product" of the system and stressed it must be uprooted.
If somebody has to resign over irresponsible comments, it must not start with Sir John, Kennedy said in an interview with Joy News' Evans Mensah.
A founder-member of the NPP, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe, has demanded the immediate resignation of the NPP General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, who has been convicted of criminal contempt.
Tamakloe said even though Sir John escaped jail sentence, the humiliation alone he suffered from the panel of judges hearing the presidential election petition should be enough for him to honourably resign his position without being asked to do so.
In a reaction, Arthur Kennedy, in part, agreed with Tamakloe that the comments made by Sir John were irresponsible, but disagreed with him on the mode of punishment to be meted out to the party's scribe.
"How can we ask Afriyie to resign when we are defending all-die-be-die?" he asked.
When asked if it is his wish for punitive measures to be taken against the party's flagbearer over the All-die-be-die mantra, Arthur Kennedy said the comment was made in the past and that the party must look ahead in the future and take disciplinary action against anybody, irrespective of the position the person occupies in the party.
He said the party and the country as a whole has been saddled with people making irresponsible comments, adding a clear decision must be made as to the code of conduct and punishment to be meted to anybody who breaks the rule on responsible commentary.

You are rather a fool. What Kuranchie said suggests that he didnt go in for pleadings and that he had no regrets publishing that article. He is rather a galant and spirited editor who would not submit himself to intimidation. How does a journalist who speaks for the masses be coward! Ghanains must learn and stop jumping into useless and baseless conclusions. Kuranchie is the bravest journalist for the year and i could see he and kweku Baako are the only brave and wise journalist in ghana at the moment. Kwesi Pratt is a stomach and rented journalist who always commercialise his services to those who can afford.

Of course, if the case you wanted to make is to be paraded before the whole world as a reckless person and make a complete ass of yourself, causing severe Emotional Distress and avoidable and unneseccary pain to those dear to you and loved ones and become a 'hero' of Morons by going to jail, I, Mantse, don't think the likes of Ayikoi Otoo would even want to represent YOU. No, Paul, he is no fool. It's a huge mistake to think that Ayikoi Otoo can win every case with his jokes; or that every lawyer ought to, or can, resort to such tactics. The judges wouldn't have countenanced Ayikoi Otoo's tactics from a younger lawyer. In fact, Atuguba himself advised Ayikoi Otoo that he couldn't overplay his tactics because they didn't address the substance of the matter.
We all know that Tsatsu is a great lawyer, never mind his tendency toward sophistry, which is all part of the game, but he doesn't have Mr. Otoo's sense of humour and humility. You can't win every case by just being funny and massaging the egos of the judges. And while they have the power to convict, no one should think the judges themselves are beyond reproach. I'm no supporter of Sir John. In fact, he got what he deserved. But Atuguba's behaviour was immature and capricious. If you'd observed carefully, he changed his tone when they returned from recess. I'm very sure his colleagues had a word of advice for him during recess. To tell you the truth, the sentence was fair, even lenient, but Atuguba's behaviour was embarrassing.

Ken was right in his choice of a lawyer. Under his circumstances no amount of pleadings and shows of remorse would have averted a jail sentence. This is because, the SC, after the strong warning (and banning from attending further court sittings) to Sammy Awuku, was determined to jail any person who appeared before it for same offense the court. It was to serve as a lesson to all and WAS VERY RIGHT.
But in the case of Sir John, the SC was aware of a likely adverse security implications of a jail term, especially giving that the verdict of the substantive case was a week or two away; and also that Sir John was the CEO of a party to the substantive case. Moreover, the pleadings for peace at this time in our history by all and sundry could not go unheeded. Again, and much probably, the culprit's own move to purge himself of the offense before he appeared before the court and of course, the classic performance of his lawyer, Ayikoi-Otoo all added up to.

ATTA AKYIA WENT TO COURT TO MAKE PEELEPEELE AND TO SHOW THAT THE JUDGES DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE LAW. HE WAS VERY STUPID AND THAT STUPIDITY LANDED HIS CLIENT INTO PRISON. HE SHOULD HAVE ASKED HIS CLIENT TO KEEP QUIET, SHOW SOME RESPECT WITH HIS BODY LANGUAGE AND THEN PLEAD FOR MERCY. ATTA AKYIA DID NOT DO ANY OF THESE BECAUSE HE IS NOT CULTURED. I DONT KNOW WHERE SOME OF THESE LAWYERS STUDIED. IN FACT, ONE'S CHARACTER AND DEMEANOUR ALSO COUNTS IN EVERY CASE ONE HANDLES. MY CONCLUSION IS THAT AWUKU IS A FOOL FOR THINKING THAT HE HAD A GOOD LAWYER AND HIS LAWYER IS A FOOL FOR NOT ACCEPTING THAT HIS STYLE LED HIS CLIENT TO PRISON.

Do not forget that after your case, the court faced a challenge as to what to do with future contemnors. Sentencing Sir John to prison would have been a wrong move on the part of the judges.
What are people going to say about Tsatsu after 29th August? From his abysmal performance in court so far, who would ever have believed that he was the luminary par excellence?
Well done Atta Akyea. Well done Ayikoi Otoo. Good judgement Atuguba and the Big Nine.

A manager at Shoprite in Accra had the task of hiring someone to fill a job opening. After sorting through a stack of resumes he found four people who were equally qualified. He decided to call the four in and ask them only one question. Their answer would determine which of them would get the job.
The day came and as the four sat around the conference room table, the interviewer asked, 'What is the fastest thing you know of?'
The first man replied, 'A THOUGHT.' It just pops into your head. There's no warning.
'That's very good!' replied the interviewer. 'And, now you sir?', he asked the second man.
'Hmmm...let me see 'A blink! It comes and goes and you don't know that it ever happened. A BLINK is the fastest thing I know of.'
'Excellent!' said the interviewer. 'The blink of an eye, that's a very popular cliché for speed.' He then turned to the third man, who was contemplating his reply.
'Well, out at my dad's ranch, you step out of the house and on the wall there's a light switch. When you flip that switch, way out across the pasture the light on the barn comes on in less than an instant. 'Yep, TURNING ON A LIGHT is the fastest thing I can think of'.
The interviewer was very impressed with the third answer and thought he had found his man. 'It's hard to beat the speed of light,' he said.
Turning to Akaracachi, the fourth and final man, the interviewer posed the same question.
Old Akarakachi replied, 'After hearing the previous three answers, it's obvious to me that the fastest thing known is DIARRHEA.'
'WHAT!?' said the interviewer, stunned by the response.
'Oh sure', said Akarakachi. 'You see, the other day I wasn't feeling so good, and I ran for the bathroom, but before I could THINK, BLINK, or TURN ON THE LIGHT, I had already Shit in my pants.'
Akarakachi is now the new greeter at a Shoprite near you!
