  This is a good decision. The government should be serious with it and make sure that people get interest in it. At the same time the insurance companies should play by the rules. When people hesitate to contract insurance in Ghana for their properties, they have the feeling that when the worst happens, these companies will not assume their responsibilities of paying the victims their due.

  I sincerely think, the insurance companies shd employ the requisite staff such as qualified or trainee actuaries. There cannot be a good health system without doctors neither can there any good educational system without professional teachers. Plse NIC ensure that the create the actuarial departments and that can make them conduct themselves professionally and be trusted.

  some people in usa have certificate (maybe from their own company training) in life insurance.. But schools should also both train people to work there and train young people in school about system so they are not ripped off!

  IF I HAD MY OWN WAY, CAR INSURANCE WOULD BE LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF VEHICLE OWNERS. THE WHOLE INSURANCE INDUSTRY/SCHEME IN THIS COUNTRY IS NOTHING BUT FRAUD, BEING PERPETRATED BY INSURANCE COMPANIES WITH THE FULL SUPPORT OF OUR INSENSITIVE GOVERNMENTS OVER THE YEARS

  but required in usa for 20 years now at least..Laws have to be passed to not them them profit too much.. Also they must be taken to court to force payouts on claims!
