While we agree with most of the things that he said, his dealing with Sir John was an abuse of power. He would have sent Sir John to jail if he had his own way.

Atuguba is guilty of engaging in judicial galamsey by presiding over a case in which his nephew has a substantial interest in the outcome as the Executive Secretary to the President. This is clear conflict of interest and any self respecting judge would have recused himself to avoid bringing decisions of the court in disrepute. Is there anyone in Ghana who does not know who will be the beneficiary of Atuguba's vote in the case? He has no credibility to lecture anyone about propriety as he himself has failed to observe judicial canons and ethics which require a judge to step down from a case under such circumstances.

This is some of the things which are dangerous in discharging judgement at court. Because, the "JUDGE" feels the power is his so he can jail you the way he or she want without looking at what the Law says regarding the case at stake.
