The head mistress was right and justifiable in her judgement. One of the most dysfunctional and still primitive in the world.

FUCK!!! What is worse than tribal markings, which apparently still occurs.

What is worse than female genital mutilation, a typical Ghanaian cultural practice?

What is worse than hair braiding which pulls the skin of your skull so tight, I can't imagine it not having an effect on your cranial functions?

Who started tattooing, face painting, facial distortions, or I mean body part distortions. Africans or Europeans?

Who started enslavement and child servitude? Ghanaians or Westerners?

Ghana has no culture. We just do stupid things at random, and when you get enough ignorant people to participate we call it culture. What principles do we have that are so unique to only us and not other humans around the world?

Eating Fufu, Kenkey or Banku with your hands is what we deem Ghanaian culture? I hate that shit! because I clever man like me living in a country with limited access to water, would rather use a tool to eat so I won't have to find water to wash my dirty hands before and after. Now to me that is Ghanaian culture that I was brought up with. Right smack in the heart of Accra. White people did not teach me this.

What is so intelligently Ghanaian about strapping a baby on your back with a piece of cloth, when our ancestors practiced it at a time when their brain functions were so limit or lacking. Europeans came, viewed and they invented the baby carriage, ergonomically and intelligently. Yet today, we have Ghanaian women boarding international aircrafts in droves, with babies strapped on their backs, or shall I say dangling on their backs precariously, and we ignoramus, thinking it is so cool, like we really started something smart and will hang onto this primitive method for life.

We must find ways to purge all these primitive semi-educated people in our midst, they are simply a natural digression of the advancement of our society(there is no such thing as Ghanaian culture). Sadly, these very people use selective forms of western culture for their very personal development, but where they disagree, they tend to cite some make believe superior Ghanaian culture as the tool of moral compass.

I hate tattoos, especially permanent markings. I have absolutely no control over anybody's body part so I simply express my opinion, but I have come to find attractive and sensual some tattoos strategically placed on certain attractive females. Men and bikers or gang members who take the art of tattooing to an extreme make me sick, but who am I to imprison them, ostracize them, or use my power to exclude them from certain privileges in life, such as an education or entry into church.

Perhaps some group should also advocate the removal of this headmistress for infringing on the "RIGHTS" of these fellow citizens of the republic. This is where are useless legal practitioners should look at making their money, rather than tagging along with politicians to steal from the state. The parents should sue the school authorities and headmistress

We have a lot of backward and primitive practices in Ghana still. Any refined etiquettes we possess was taught to us by our British Colonial Rulers (God Save The Queen).

What we know best are rituals, Nose, Lip, Eye, Ear piercings. But as soon as European kids rebelling take it to the extreme and rebrand it to us kids, we tend to pretend we own the moral high grounds.

1. is tattooing wrong or is it wrong for an under 18 yr old.
2. who administers the tattoos, should it be regulated or anybody can do it.
3. when something is culturally wrong but constitutionally not recognized to be so, should one lose any privileges and rights.

its ok to talk with emotions, but let us think through a bit more before we talk. Ghana is all we have.

Children should not be getting tatoos full stop, not only does it look unattractive but there is a serious health risk f catching Hepatitis and even worse HIV from tatoo pen which may not have been sterelised. Honestly how many of you would allow you daughter to tattoo a boyfriend's name on her body. my cousin did it and regreted when she fell in love with a another man and married him. Romoving tatoos is not straight forward, it can cause servere scarring if not done properly and costs a fortune. Girl;s should be educated and if there isn't a law in place to ban children from getting tattoos and imposes strict regulations on tattoo artists then one must be put in place immediately. by the way i'm in my twenties for anyone who wants to insult me and say i'm backwards, i do not oppose tattoos in fact i have looked at getting one in the past but children should not be allowed to make that choice until they are adults and have weighted up the pros and cons.

So my question is; why should any student get sacked from school for inking her body when there are all kinds of identifying scars inflicted on ourselves all over Ghana?
Don't ruin their lives because of tattoos, teach them to be aware of the danger they could face from the use of un-sanitized equipments. And perhaps an indelible memories of having a tattoo of a person that hurts you on you butt.

I believe our school system needs to focus on other important issue than this. There is nothing wrong about tattoo on the people; I think the issue people must have raised is denying a person the right to education based on someone values. Ghana, this is the modern world; I think when you deny a person the freedom to express themselves, it is wrong and to tell you the truth. Most student in America or some parts of Africa are allowed some freedom to fall on their artist nature and this helps them to focus more on their education instead of finding hiding ways unapproved way to experiment against school policies. And by the way Tattoo is part of our African heritage if you don't realize. Bring her back, don't waste your time on unwanted issues rather help her or have a student counselor at the school to help these kids.
