Rightly said but we are still being myopic in our thinking.
If Ghana needs to generate revenue through export of crops in the raw state which we call non traditional crops we shall never make any meaningful progress in our exports since there are a lot of trade barriers and as well as countries shifting from the consuming of chemically fertilized crops to organic crops.
What is needed of this nation is to place value on our crops. For example take corn; we can extract corn oil, make capsule for drugs, corn powder etc. What about rice get rice milled and polished to the international standard then we can be competitive Soya beans: we can generate oil, feed for the fish industry soya milk . Most countries made it through agriculture revolution and in recent times Vietnam is cutting the path. What about Malaysia. There is huge money to draw from our land but we are all looking for quick money so relying on cheap imports whilst our land are lying fallow and the rivers and water bodies are under utilized. This export oriented issue I will not buy into it.
Let us put value to our product convince Ghanaians to rely on these products when we saturate the market then we can look else where. As a matter of fact we read about this wonderful approach but there are serious minded people who have very viable business plans and are looking for funds to turn this economy around through agro industry but will be turned down by this very institutions. Talk is cheap let us get the right people on board.

Why did Ghana needs US$600million to implement National Export Strategy.Four days ago,It was posted on Ghanaweb that Ghana need $600million to implement National Export Strategy Documents and Today $600million to implement National Export Strategy without documents.Is the Ministry of trade and Industry don,t have a workforce?If they don't,how do they work and all ministries have they workforce.All Ministries have workforce that works on various documents and get paid of their monthly salary so why is this different from the rest of the ministries.Don't their workforce get paid.This is a new strategy Mahama and his corrupt theifs has device to still stay in the policies of create,loot and share agenda.All patriotic Ghanaians should condemn Mahama and his ministers of their saavy stealing.
