The people, not God, choose their own leader. And the leader is accountable to them. If God were to choose for the people, then why do they go to vote??? If God were to choose a leader for us, then he would have violated our rights as people. It would also have meant that we would not have the right to speak against the leader if he/she went wrong.
Even those who live(s) under theocracy seek/sought the right to decide who rules over them.
Such infantile, schizophrenic thinking and belief that persisted among Africans' ancestors was part of the reasons why Arabs got the opportunity to invade parts of Africa and lorded themselves over them. It was also part of the reasons why Europeans colonised most of Africa. Blacks believed in God appointing somebody to rule over them. Europeans cunningly jumped into the bandwagon, seeing themselves appointed by God to rule over blacks. Some of the black ancestors acquiesced to this nonsense and even helped them. Sad that after several centuries, a whole chief still believes in this lies.

Our constitution says specifically that any Ghanaian who is 18 years and of a sound mind, can vote and during the last election, the same constitution gave the mandate to the electoral commissioner to make amends that any Ghanaian who can vote should be verified through the biometric registration machine. Those who the machine did not verify cannot vote. Now, commonsense should tell us that if you vote without verification, you vote should be thrown out and that is what the petitioners went to court to challenge.

When NDC won the election, they were blowing their horn that they will send all NPP ministers to court on corruption charges. How many NPP ministers have been charge or sent to jail under this government?

Does God choose a leader for the people, or the people choose their own leader that is why they go to vote?

Tribalism in its current state was formented by JJ Rawlings. It's since been bubbling underneath and Mahama unashamedly stoked the fire by openly declaring in Zuarungu before the elections that he was 'a northerner and therefore all northerners should vote for him'. He followed it up by making 91per cent of the ministerial position available to northerers. With this statement by the Tamale chief I personally feel that tribalism as practised by the Ewes is extending to the north. I think the surest way to avoid a conflagration in a future Ghana is for every region/tribe to rule itself and develop its area. I'll find it difficult to employ anybody who is not my tribesman from today due to the statements by the northerners mentioned above.
