The resolution of this petition will be dealth with on the basis of Law but not on the basis of Morality. Many of the commentators I have heard have been discussing the matter on the basis of morality. Moral issues should not be entertained at the Supreme Court at all. Moral issues can best be handled by our traditional leaders.
The 1992 Constitution does not anywhere provide for the cancellation or annulment of votes by citizens.The Constitution expects the actions of these agents as long as their actions are within the scope of their principals mandate binds the presidential candidates. What will make a presiding offices not sign the results of the elections? These presiding officers have their favourite candidates and knowing that their signatures can undo a result, they can easily sabotage a presidential candidate of a party if that candidate is not their favourite candidate.Annuling results on this basis is very dangerous in our practice of democracy.
Afterall, what is a signature? Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary of Current English By A.S Homby defines it as ''Persons name signed by himself''. The EC could have saved a this situation by scribbling something at the signature columns of these results. Afterall we dont have the specimen signs of the presiding officers for any legal authentication to be done.
I believe the C.Is are not strong enough to invalidate the provisions of the 1992 Constitutions which have been passed by the sovereign people of Ghana themselves.
This petition has been pursued on bad faith. BAD FAITH because if there were irregularities in the 2012 elections, it cuts across the whole country and we cannot select some aspect of the country and demand those results to be cancelled. This is not fair.
The petition need to be a wake up call to all of us in the way we have treated elections in the coutry.But it should not be a basis for cancelling any result let alone overturn the result of an elections.

The reasoning behind a ruling can be interrogated to detect whether justice has been done or not, it is not what an indicidual thinks. The person who critcised the judgement is a lawyer but not a layman, so it cannot be that he does not know what he is talking about
