Nana Kwaku Bonsam traveled to the States for holidays and by accident someone ( a Pharmacist in Bronx who has read about him online) suggested that he undertakes surgery to correct the infractions on his face from severe burns he suffered before he became a priest. Why would you pronounce death on another human being? Are you God? He is dying of kidney issue and your evidence is ? Why do people peddle cheap lies about others? Does someone having a different religious beliefs make him an enemy? What happened to objective discussions and common sense discourse? Has religious tolerance and freedom of belief and the right to be associated with any faith of one's choice been scrapped from Ghana's bill of rights? First of all, Nana Kwaku Bonsam accepts any religion unlike those fanatic Christians claiming hegemony over any other religion. Secondly,Nana Kwaku Bonsam was a Christian before he became a traditional priest and knows the bible quite well, he has been quoting the bible now and again. Likewise he has always visited some churches which have been friendly towards him. This however, in no way means, that he is going to stop or abandon our rich ancient culture and african religion.

Occultism or Idol worship does not exist, its just a derogatory term, to deny the fact, that we had a highly sophisticated and native religion before the coming of the Europeans.

How dare people to describe any other religion than Christianity as demonic? Is Buddhism demonic? Is Daoism demonic? Is Hindusim demonic? Is Judaism demonic? If not, why are they considering African religions or ancient indigenous beliefs in general as demonic? I wonder when Christians will stop claiming hegemony over all other religions.

Christianity its by his history one of the cruelest religions.How many people have died in the name of Christ, Christianity and Catholicism? Thousands and millions were killed, who refused to accept Christianity and their holy places being destroyed.Entire cities had been wiped out in the name of Christianity. Not to mention the numerous religious wars i.e. Catholic extermination camps,Catholic terror in Vietnam,Rwanda Massacres (where the catholic church had been actively involved) of course it does not end there, it goes on with the killings of Indians in South America etc.

Degenerating African religions saying its backward and babaric is far from the truth. Its very sophisticated, if you take the time to analyze it.Trying to push away African spirituality without making an effort to understand it, will surely lead you astray.There are different religons in the world with different ways how to get close to God and our creator force. One cannot say one faith system is better or even superior to another.We all have a right to practise and follow what we believe in and what appeals to us. The Akans came to the present day area of Ghana, because they refused to accept Islam and did not want to engage in constant warefare with those who were trying to impose it upon them. They didnt come to Ghana to be forced into Christianity. If one wants to follow a foreign religion, let him/her do so. But they should not condem indigenous religious beliefs out of ignorance.

If one really has a problem with his/her own culture, then he must stop practising it! That person must stop in performing Akan naming ceremonies, stop conducting funerals in the Akan fashion, stop pouring libation, stop engaging in Akan festivals such as Akwasidae, stop the practise of customary marriages, even stop bearing an Akan soul/day names, since they have a spiritual connection to the cosmology of the Akan people. They must also avoid praising Nyame/Nyankopon since this is how the Akans referred to their creator.They must stop practising all aspects of their culture.One cannot say I embrace my culture, but I reject the spiritual aspect of it. This is not possible, one does not exist without the other.

Upon all those stolen religious culture and civilization of us, they (the western world) still give us the impression, they are the civilized ones, even though, they are still living at the expense of our civilization just under a different name, believing we will ever remain blind to discover their conspiracies. They still want us to believe that they are the makers of what our fore-parents have already created for us many centuries before.

That is God; And that there is One for all and all for One. That is GOD. This concept is what many in this world of ours fail to see. Many are those who would promtly jump to reject other people's concept of God without pausong for a moment to reflect on what is being presented to them in that introduction of God. Yet all it requires is to for one to call for the explanation of the concept and probably the meaning of the words coined in the introducer's language of who and what God is. Catholicism proved to be more of Pagan hence the Protestantism and the rest was history. The killings in the name of Christianity were unchristian if you follow the Bible so please do not blame Christianity. Jesus said that they will kill in his name but he will one day tell such that he knows them not!

I am not surprised Mr. Kwaku Bonsam was given the pulpit in the Catholic Church. My brothers and Sisters of the Catholic faith do genuinely believe in Christ but they must watch and pray and check the warnings in Revelations; "Come out of her my people".

Since, the bible was written in Latin and only the higher class was capable of understanding this language, they had to believe what they were told. But Martin Luther, said this is was nowhere written in the bible and decided to translate the bible into german. He was excommunicated for his 95 theses.

The Supreme Being of the Akan people appears in the triad of Nyame-Nyankopon-Odumankoma. Nyame is the female aspect of the Supreme Being or Creator, symbolized by the Ohemaa of the state. Nana Asaase Yaa is the mother of the earth. The Abosom were created by the supreme being and work for him. We Akans believe that God Almighty the supreme being is too unique to be worshipped directly, therefore we worship him through Abosom and the spirits of our ancestors, who are closer to both the spiritual and material world. Just like you cannot talk to a Akan King directly, but through his linguist, the same way we do not talk directly to God. If someone pours libation without mentioning the Supreme being and Nana Asaase Yaa, then he is not a proper traditional priest.

The term "Obosom" refers not only to caretakers of a community, which are harboured at an Obosomfie, but to all natural spirits, which reside in forests, lakes/rivers, mountains etc. These are the children of God, unless you dont believe that mother nature was created by God.

It is by the unction, direction and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit that an individual can be saved.

Otherwise the individual, ignorantly, would defend his position.

When a person is in idolatry, it takes a spacial GRACE to release that person from the grips of the enemy. Often DELIVERANCE is the key.

When a man's heart is searching, God will allow himself to be known by that person.

When repentance takes place, the individual's eyes would be opened to denounce his/her idolatry practice.

The knowledge of the word of God that has been communicated in power is what redeems. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD of God.

When the idolatrous Ephesians heard the Gospel, they brought all their idolatrous books and burnt them in public.

The Holy Ghost can deal with the individual outside the Church environment. It could be a special encounter with the Lord, like the experience of Paul(then Saul).

God has a way of dealing with every individual. And believers have a responsibility in understanding and cooperating with God in this direction.

The House of God should be one of prayers, always. Holiness unto the Lord and a passion for the lost. The Church environment should be conditioned with attitude of discipline and prayers to the effect that no one(especially, the saved) comes comes there and leaves the same.

We should be aglow in spirit, always, else we miss an opportunity of bring someone to Christ.

Nana I am proud of you. Nana`s presence in the is a prove that, African knew God, accepted God, before the coming of foreign religions into our society. African are not idol worshippers, we rather worship god through the gods, that`s our tradition. The african believe that God is so supreme, Great etc that you go to Him through lesser gods as you go to your presidents through secretaries and appointments. OUr traditions are not ungodly but rather we, Africans we been made to adopt foreign religion- because it is only defeated people who accept foreign religion. We need our traditions back.
