The SC has no other option than to uphold the results declared by EC's boss,Dr Afari Gyan.The élections have not been proven to be fraud or rigged in anyway for anybody in court.The President and NDC have not been involved in any irregularity at least.Therefore,it will be unconstitutional to remove a democratic elected president from office because somebody is not satisfied with the results.This is tantamount to coup d'état,just look at what is happening in Egypt.Besides,the pink sheets are not credible and solid enough to warrant any changes because the evidence carries tons of errors even more than the élections.The presentation of the petition was poorly managed,the quantity of pink sheets was mysterious and mislabelling of exhibits etc is enough to quench the case right there.Whatever the case,this weak evidence is not enought to overturn the declared results at all.Let's be objective,you cannot come from nowhere and ask the SC to remove a legitimate President of the Republic from power with this stupid petition.Thank you.

3. If the election was flawed with irregularities,what happens to the parliamenary elections?Are we going to re-run the parliamentary elections as well, since the voters went through the same process?
4. Who presides over the country untill elections are held?
5. Where are we getting funds? who will commit resources into that election?
The judges should keep these in mind when pronouncing judgement so that they dont create a constitutional crises in Ghana.

The burden lies on the petitioners to prove that the so-call irregularities affected the results-i.e. how did the irregularities benefit Mahama, and negatively affected Nana? i think all the parties were equally affected by the irregularities- Presiding officers not signing pink sheets,voting without verification,same serial numbers,unknown polling stations. All the parties were equally affected by the irregularities. No party uniquely benefited from these allegations to th edisadvantage of the other. THE STATUS QUO MUST BE MAINTAINED....

How could you go to court with such a weak evidence and expect the court to rule in your favour. It does't surprise me when folks of the loosing party talk about boldness. In justice, I don't think any judge need boldness to pass judgement. What a judge need is the evident before him, except that the judge in question is corrupt. For once, I think they would do the right thing by looking at the evidence before them. As for Dr Afari Gyan, he has done nothing wrong. OPTION 3: As the writer has analysed, option 3 ie a re-run will bring doom. First Afari Gyan and his entire senior staff of the EC cannot preside over it. Also, President Mahama ceases to be president. He will have to hand over to a transition team who will have to appoint another Electoral Commissioner who will appoint new presiding officers and train them so that this time, they will make no statutory malpractices, omissions, violations and irregularities. There is no guarantee that when the new EC declares the results of a re-run election it will be accepted by the loser for us to have another petition all over again. Finally, the EC will have to be given hundreds of millions of Ghana cedis from the distressed national coffers to organise the re-election.
2. Option 2. A greater doom will befall this country if the SC declares Akufo Addo the winner of the December election. It would mean that someone, who has lost an election unanimously described by all the numerous observers inside and outside Ghana, rubbished the EC's compilation, made his own compilation by cancelling millions of valid votes from his opponent's strongholds and this surprisingly received the SC's endorsement. I cannot figure out how President Mahama will agree to handover to such a person. This is impossible. Such a judgment will throw this country into an abyss. I don't think the SC judges can be so callous. So this option is out.
Option 1. The only viable option is to let the status quo remain. Akufo Addo and his supporters must come to terms with the fact that he lost the election and prepare for 2016 which is just around the corner.

If the commission is a legal entity then is it not separate from the commissioner?in any case what did Atari gyan do wrong as a commissioner.attempting to spell out his basic duty on election day,I will say that he waits for all the results to be returned to the commission through faxes to the so called strong room.those results are then forwarded to him to sign and declare the results. Is it the case that he did not sign before declaring the results as in the case of certain presiding officers?
in succinct,would want to say that Dr Afari gyan has not been accused of doing a thing wrong and if any it had not been proved any where in the 48 days or so trail.
