  they will pay if they do issue bonds and rates are lower in usa..i paid $53(106 cedi) for 376 kwh last month..enough power to run 3 bedroom house with stove,microwave,2 computers,tv, clothes washer,clothes dryer and fridge!

  Dan - Agree with first part of your statement. Unfortunately the second is wrong. The current electricity tarrifs are 17.58 cedis for the first 300kWh, 22.81 cedis for the next 300kWh and 25.35 Cedis for every kWh thereafter ...

  Dan - Agree with first part of your statement. Unfortunately the second is wrong. The current electricity tarrifs are 17.58 cedis for the first 300kWh, 22.81 cedis for the next 300kWh and 25.35 Cedis for every kWh thereafter. There is also a service charge of 1.65 cedis, Government Street Levy of 0.0002 cedis/kWh and Street Lighting Levy of 0.0001 cedis/kWh. Based on the above, if you had consumed the 376kWh in Ghana, you would have had to pay a total of $36 ([300 x 0.1758 + 76 x 0.2281 + 1.65 + 376 x 0.0002 + 376 x 0.0001] / 2.0 Cedis/$).
  
  This is about 68% of what you paid. RATES ARE NOT LOWER IN US.

  Correction - the tariffs are pesewas not Cedis ie 17.58 pesewas/kWh for the first 300kWh etc.
