the solution to all is simple, all the people involved with the missing files, have to be dismissed immediately. No questions asked. Better back-up procedures have to be put in place, to prevent such situations in the future.

When I got to the part that said that the CEO of GNPC Nana Asafu Adjaye stated that they just gave all the related files away to the the Attorney Generals without first making sure that they had a back-up, I read that part about four times because I couldnt believe it and I thought he was being misquoted.
The Nana Asafu-Adjeye should be immediately sacked from such a critical state institution. The person who appointed him there should also be made to answer questions as to how such a person can be employed by the state.
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Energy should also be summarily dismissed from govt service. It is also unbelievable that a whole Chief Director like him should claim that he wasnt aware that an institution under his watch was involved in a judgment debt involving a whopping $19 million and he claims he was not aware of the matter until he was invited by the court?? What is he sitting there in that ministry for and who put that Prof designation before his name? Who allowed such a person to proceed beyond primary school?
It seems to me that we worry ourselves to get educated for nothing.
As for the Attorney Generals Dept of the Ministry of Justice, it seems that it has become a den of thieves and a hatchery for the accomplices of thieves. The Attorney Generals Dept has passed the shamelessness, the excessive addiction to corruption and the notoriety of the Ghana Police Service.

Millions of Dollars of contract documents??
People must be held accountable for causing these conditions that give rise to these depts.
If you sign a contract, you have to fulfill it. Any official found to be disrupting contract implementation, must be made to pay from their own personal pockets and be jailed.
The government will not take any action, because they are all involved, just like the Woyome case. It will drag on for years.

He said prior to the payment of the judgment debt, GNPC were using Bindman and Partners as their legal representation in court when Societe Generale was contesting the corporation but the then Attorney General, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, asked for the matter to be handed over to him.
He said after the handing over of the case to the Attorney General there were no legal representation for GNPC, leading to loss of the case by the corporation, which brought about the payment of the judgment debt.
Nana Asafu-Adjaye, the Chief Executive Officer of GNPC, said in 1999 SG sued the corporation in London court to recover debt they claimed was owed by the corporation.
He said the organisation contested the claims of SG based on the fact that it was SG that gave "negligent advice" to the corporation to hedge its anticipated production of oil and gas from the Tano Fields.
He said a letter dated 24 October 2001 from the Ministry of Energy to the corporation showed that the GNPC drill ship, D511, was sold for US.5 million but could not confirm whether it was used to defray the judgment debt.

Just checked on the internet - Bowman & Partners are an USlaw firm based in Phildelphia. If the case was being heard in London why was a London litigation firm not instructed - why a firm in the USA - doesn't make sense.
They are a very small law firm by international standards and do not have an office in London - so I ask again why did the GNPC instruct them to defend a case being heard in the courts in London - very strange......
