  At one point you talk about fears of the country's forest reserve cover depleting at an alarming.
  At another, you talk about signing a voluntary partnership to export timber.

  IS THAT WISDOM OR FOOLISHNESS?
  
  If we do not start thinking of protecting our environment,we will starve and die of thirst as well.
  Even a fool,can make it(get rich) in Ghana,because we are ruled by FOOLS,WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING..

  OH Ghana. what is wrong with us. After making this point in parliament what are our law makers saying or doing about it. Useless group of people without vision. Let us concentrate on getting these national looters to do their work. The church leaders and other opinion leaders should take this matter up with parliament. This is more dangerous if one looks at the implications on food production and other health issues. Let us sit up now to save the future generation.

  Folks, it will be less than 23 yrs. The last time I checked, 3 rivers on a 5 miles stretch on the Kumasi to Asante Mampong road were nowhere to be found. From Kona to Tano Odumasi, a 2 miles stretch; 20 years ago, there was a river with a relatively high bridge on it. That river has virtually vanished. On the same road, between T. Odumasi and Agona, (3miles) there were two other rivers, those have also disappeared.
  
  Just imagine that 3 rivers have disappeared on a 5 miles radius. Who knows how many rivers and streams in the rest of the country have disappeared.
  
  With the kind of people ruling the country, I am afraid, Ghana's future is shaky.
  
  Ghanaians seem to be in a survival mode. Majority of the people, including the so-called politicians and officials, have one common goal. How to survive here and now. They are all thinking in the short term, no long term planning seems to go on in that country.
  
  This water issue that has been raised at the Public Accounts Committee sitting, would not be tackled in any effective way.
  Instead of launching mass education ,and implementing measures to deal with the deforestation and water pollution by mining activities, they would talk about it, write reports, collect their committee sitting allowances, and nothing would be done.
  
  Ye ye mobo.-Pathetic people.

  That is what we should be talking about, instead of "who founded a Ghana" that is on a slippery path to becoming a failed state. I wrote about this water problme about twelve years ago. Unfortunately, people like Mahama think it is a joke and so they spend 5 million cedis to plant five tress that die within one month.
  
  It shows how clueless our leaders are and it also reflects on us the led, when we allow hollow promises and parochial interests to sway our choices!
