Awuku´s statement captured on the tape can attract contempt of court charges for imputing that some of the justices have already compromised their positions. It is also likely that he could face perjury for running to the court with false charges against his accusers if police investigations establish that he is the one captured on the tape.

Whoever advised him that by rushing to the court could secure him immunity from police investigations has done him a great de-service - that is, if indeed it is found out that he was the one who addressed that group.

It is important to correct the distortion by Peacefmonline in the story attributed to me on the Awuku Tape. The trust of my commentary was on how the tape must not distract from the mood of the Country towards peace and towards sustaining the peace after the Supreme Court verdict. In this regard, I advised that in handling the security threat that is in the recording, the way it is handled should not distract us from the peace on Thursday. All other additions are a distortion by the one who the wrote the article attributed to my comments and therefore readers should ignore those additions accordingly. Emmanuel Bombande
