Too many words, too many waste of words. The verses in question are easy and self explanatory: you don't sin with the confident hope that sacrifice, large or small, will obliterate the sin.

I agree with the first part of your comment, that these are really simple verses to understand. They simply answer the question of one's ability to lose his salvation due to deliberate/willful sin. The fact that it was written to the Jewish Christians is inconsequential because we live in the same christian dispensation. I therefore do not see the argument in the lengthy piece.

Present Israel was the land Judah. Most modern bible has change where the name has to be Judah to israel creating confusion in the bibles. That is why some bible are preferable to others. The wording could changed meanings.

I agree that this is a detailed prose on this matter, but the author failed to highlight the fact that Christians need to be discerning to avoid the trap of apostasy which originates from adhering to false teachings, such as the so called “prosperity gospel”, “spiritual fatherhood”, “taking dominion”, messages, which is gradually producing lukewarm Christians and eventually apostasy. Generally, apostasy occurs over time and is fundamentally germinated through false teachings and the Hebraic Christians whom this letter was addressed obviously faced the false teachings of the Pharisees, Sadducees and the subtleties of syncretism of the time. Today, we are faced with even more subtle challenges with all manner of sugar-coated tongued preachers beguiling the church with all manner of false teachings. The solution is to prayer for a discerning and God-fearing heart and to persevered to the end. The above not withstanding this piece serves a good course.

What I know is that every gift has it's "tempter" or what if care is not taking can desroy that same blessed gift(s). Abraham was rich and never messed up his riches, Job was the other one who was a balance Godly man so leave the faith and Positive minded preachers alone. Fulfill ur ministry or calling and the Lord will bless you. Jesus is a LAMB and also the LION OF JUDAH- Balanced God.Facts are sacred but comments are free. I am not against what you wrote but also sharing with you the other side of God so as the prophets of doom prophesies know that we also have prophets that bring good news. They all come from God at a particular time and seasons.

Remember what Christ said, leave the wheat and chaff to grow together and the angels will deal with the chaff in the lake of fire. Paraphase mine. The point is that the "so called" faith preachers, dominion takers and are the cause of the spiritual decay in the church and have veered from the principal call of instructing the flock to grow in the image and likeness of Christ by fearing God. Many of the early Christians were not rich but they walked in living obedience. Whilst balance is crucial, we must be aware of the dangers of such the deceitfulness of riches and the cares of this world which stymed the growth of enquirers as per the famous parable of the sower. I beg to differ that spiritual fatherhood has a logical biblical basis. Jesus warned all this followers no to all anyone one father - Matt 23:9.

Agree with you Kweks.Though a good piece,it must be emphasized that all heaven-minded christians must keep themselves unspotted from the pollutions of the world.In Hebrews14:12.it says follow peace with all men,and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.We must be watchful and pray for God's grace to do the Father's will.Its written that those that will do the Father's will(Repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ;Righteous living which exceeds the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees,etc)they will enter the Kingdom of heaven and not just mere professors who claim to be christians without the experience of genuine conversion (having the Spirit of God witnessing in their hearts that they are children of God).

Please do well to interpret the WORD OF GOD WELL otherwise you will mislead many into death. Under the law of Moses, a single act of Adultery was punishable by death by stoning. A witch or a wizard caught was to be killed. There are so many instances under Moses where people were to be killed for one single sin. People were not allowed to disobey the whole law of Moses before they were killed. Did Korah and his family disobey the whole Law of Moses before God killed them? It is as it is written- By the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses, testimonies are accepted and if they testified against you for sinning then you are in trouble. Remember Naboth,Jezebel and King Ahab. Under the Law, anybody who curses God or the king or both was to be killed. Jezebel found two witnesses to testify falsely against Naboth that they heard him cursing God and the King and as a result, Naboth was stoned to death.( 1 KINGS 21).
Do not accept everything you read from Bible Commentaries and Encyclopedias as the Gospel truth. They authors are also human beings and can make mistakes sometimes. Rely on the Holy Spirit, read your Bible, and read Bible Commentaries but I tell you take that which is good from the commentaries and encyclopedias and throw away that which is not good .God bless you.

Hone in on the part we don't so very well agree and discount the whole picture all because we failed to read everything in CONTEXT...well let me ask you a quick question if you don't mind..Apart from the sin of UNBELIEF (under which our subject matter (APOSTASY) will eventually come to, Is there a SIN in this world that you think has not been paid for by the BLOOD OF JESUS? that is unforgivable/has not been forgiven? and I hope this time, your answer has a bearing on believers under this dispensation.

Third point ask yourself the question why is it so hard to believe a person can live a sinless life, that the easy part it's like never cheating own your wife. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments.

God only gave Adam one commandment don,t eat off the tree of knowledge. Jesus only gave us two .
