Nana made a pledge to the good people of Ghana to accept whatever verdict the SC pronounced, and he didn't need a second thought to concede and congratulate the victor.

What was there to deliberate on - the reasons for the judgement or what? Anto and his group should appreciate the fear of war that engulfed the nation before the verdict and the instant erasure of that fear after Nana's action.

If I were close to Nana I would have advised him not to apologise.

He would have been criticised for creating tension if he had waited to consult with the National Executive Council before conceding. He was right to concede immediately and he has won many hearts and minds in doing so. He is now shown that, he is a real statesman and a true democrat. Any delay could even have been misinterpreted as disrespect for the Justices. He is damned for doing so and would have been damned if he had not done so. He could never win, could he?

Why are some Negroes still too damn foolish to prolong matters where there isn't any need?

I think that what Akufo-Addo did is the right thing, because it serves two main purposes:

1) To STAMP OUT possible trouble if the foot soldiers are/were not hearing from their leader about the verdict; &

2) Regardless of how long Akufo-Addo would wait: 1 minute, 1 year, 100 years or even 1 million years wouldn't change the SC's ruling. Defeat is defeat and he was a man enough to accept it timely!!

What the party elders should understand is that, the petition should have NOT been filed in the first place, because it has been a gross WASTE of time and money on both sides. Secondly, the Supreme Court DISMISSED the petition (i.e., the case shouldn't have been brought to the Supreme Court at all), so accepting the verdict quickly, so people can go about their lives is far better than hiding in some bunker and waiting it out.

Lastly, the NPP seriously and dangerously MESSED UP the 2008 presidedntioalk elections which they should have easily won—because of complacency, arrogance and stupidity—so from now on it will be an uphill battle for them to win the presidency.

$$ SO, NPP, JUST GET OVER IT. IT'S ALL OVER FOR NOW TILL 2016 OR 2020 $$.

He did the right thing at the right time...holding party cronies in suspense about whether he was going to accept the verdict or not until meeting nec or head (call it whatever you want) can result in anything. Again, I think this NANA guy is a peace loving guy; Although I dont know him or meet him before, I follow some of his behaviours critically from a far country. He does not behave like Kabilas of Congo or Gbagbos of Ivory Coast who resort to violence and killing the very people they want to rule. A case in point is when the NANA guy was displeased with the 2012 election results he did not rally criminals around to kill Ghanaians he desperately wants to rule rather he took a legal and for that matter a PEACEFUL action and when the verdict was made he demonstrated intelligence, political maturity and tolerance for peace. I will support him being 'nominated' for a peace award. You are a GREAT Ghanaian; whether you are a president or not NANA. You don't know of the bias of myjoyonline.com with an NPP administrator, that allow NPP supporters to insult others but block anything against his party. If we must criticize we should not be selective as was done in the pink sheets sent to the Supreme Court by the NPP. After all how many people are on the web as compared to the airwaves.If anything unpleasant will happen to Ghana, God forbid, it is the radio stations that will ignite the fire. The authorities should rather pay attention so as to control the misuse of these stations who have continuously abused the freedom of speech.

Ghanaians were told that the NPP did not file the case but that three individuals did, namely, Nana, Jake and Dr Bawumia hence the party was opposed to NDC joining the suit.Even if the constitution allows only individuals to challenge election results, it is abundantly clear the NEC of the NPP met and decided to go to court to overturn the 2012 election result. decision. So hawks like Anto were the brains behind the petition and they still want to hold Ghana hostage at this point in time. He must be watched by the Security. He is greedy and dangerous.

Even for the Justices who agreed with the petitioners that there were problems with over voting, POs not signing pink sheets and voting without BV, they asked that the votes be annulled and re-run! What was the petitioners asking for? Annulled the votes and declare Nana the winner!!! Let's assumed that majority of the Justices decided on the re-run, Nana would have even lost the re-run miserably... remember that 91% of the polling station been contested are stronghold of the NDC/Mahama!
