But as to what civility here means, only logic and the power of analysis of his statement having been carried out by competent and brainy people can we then rebuke him but not subpoena him with contempt of the SC.

They need to understand that there is a difference between making statements about a case when it's in progress in court and making one when the trial is over.When the case is still in court, you can be jailed for saying anything that would be deemed as prejudicing it.
When the trial is over, everyone has the right to say anything about the case as long as it is not slander.

1. After the Election Petition case? or
2. Will continue to apply after the case ends?
3. Will the it lead to reforms leading to political control and accountability or it will still endorse the status quo?
4. Until the above issues and many more are clarified by Atuguba and the other SC judges, it seems those who were prosecuted under Contempt power were just bullied for no reason.

The Vice-President spoke for the majority of the unbiased intelligent people. What is the verdict of the minority:ANNUL AND RE-RUN.Did the NPP petition request for a re-run?.

What I deduced from the ruling and the logical conclusion drawn is that the 3 Justices dismissed the case of over-voting,unsigned Pink Sheets by Presiding Officers and the No verification.

It is clear that the NPP did not request for a re-run.In my mind therefore the 3 Justices introduced a new case altogether, which case the NPP never requested.

The issue of ANNUL which stands ON ITS OWN, is completely different from ANNUL AND RE-RUN, which also stands on its own.Why the 3 Justices introduced the concept of re-run indeed beats my imagination!

They should also have taken into account the COST IMPLICATIONS INVOLVED IN RE-RUNNING THE ELECTIONS at those Polling stations, i.e advancing money to the EC.They should also have taken into account the fact that the status quo would not have changed, because in almost all those areas involved President Mahama won!

Maybe this is fully explained in the verdict when we see it.I am totally flabbergasted however.I do not think that a Judge for example could substitute a charge of MURDER for MANSLAUGHTER (I stand to be corrected though) if on the Charge Sheet the Prosecution had charged an accused of murder.

Following from that they should also have taken into account the effect of their decision in the smooth running of the affairs of the country as some illiterates would still be hoping that Nana Akufo Addo could be made President.

In view of the above, I fully agree with the Vice-President.

So many of us asked the same question, it was not only the Vice President. I am shocked it was not 9-0. Those other judges who followed party line, what really would they say convinced them there was fraud in the 2012 election when it was the errors that NPP passed thru to win the 2000and 2004 elections.The judges like any other Ghanaian knew very well there was no stealing anywhere in the last elections. NPP simply capitalized on errors to make a case. Just wait and see what will happen when they are defeated once again in 2016. They will find another excuse, they are used to that , it is their stock in trade. As for the boy who calls himself Baako let him keep playing , that makes the game interesting. Ayikoi is a comedian so its understood.

A Takoradi man was forced to take a day off from work to appear for a minor traffic summons. He grew increasingly restless as he waited hour after endless hour for his case to be heard.
When his name was called late in the afternoon, he stood before the judge, only to hear that court would be adjourned for the rest of the afternoon and he would have to return the next day.
"What for?!?!?" he snapped at the judge.
His honor, equally irked by a tedious day and sharp query, roared out loud: "Twenty dollars contempt of court! That's why!"
Then, noticing the man checking his wallet, the judge relented:
"That's all right. You don't have to pay now."
The young man replied, "I know. But I'm just seeing if I have enough for two more words."

The perceptual concoction that one cannot comment on a pending case originated from Pratt and Baako, and then borrowed by the illiterate Atuguba for his self-serving vendetta.

2. As a co-equal branch of government, the executive is immune to any action that will tend to subject it to judicial proceedings and supplant its superior powers. Indeed, we have a history in this country where the Supreme Court judges have been dismissed or the court itself dissolved by the power vested in the executive.

A character like this who does not know ABC of law tries to analyze what the great ant, Tsatsu Tsikata did at the Supreme Court. I now understand a friend who tried to mention some characters behind the illegal jailing of the great at in those horrible days in Ghana's history. they have not seen any thing yet!

That is not so. They knew something is not right but with politics clouded in their mind, they woefully came with wrong judgement.

Judge Atuguba should have recluse himself from the panel because of his nephew being Executive Secretary to the President but knowing very well what his agenda was, bothered not to reason about that. Kweku Baako may be half-educated as you assert, but we have had numerous graduates and PHD Holders past and present who have practically done nothing for the ordinary folks to benefit from. Majority of your assumed "full-educated" people turn to be the ones who are stealing the tax-payers money and hiding them in foreign countries.

The only person who needs to be called by SC is Gabby.
