If Nana will listen to such persons, he risks sacrificing on the alter of foolhardiness the little respect eft of him. NPP needs a fresh face and a feisty leader -- which means that Alan should not be entertained either. I would think that Bawumia would be strategically the best candidate. He seems like a smart and feisty guy and can go toe to toe with Mahama. NPP needs a non Akan on the top of the ticket, otherwise they will lose again.

  We were in power with a splendid record – international goodwill, a slashing of the national debt from an unsustainable to a sustainable level, repeal of criminal libel, an explosion in credit for small businesses, a five-fold expansion of the economy, slashing of inflation from 50% to around 12%,; infrastructure development, etc etc. We chose Nana Addo and lost to a man most thought was unelectable as president – JEA Mills. Mills record was so bad that JAK destroyed him in the central region in the 200 and 2004 electionsyet he beat Akufo Addo in 2008
  
  Nana Addo came along and we lost all the regions we won in 2000 and 2004 save Asante and Eastern. We lost Parliamentary majority and it got worse in 2012. Our votes are shrinking badly across the key regions we need.
  
  Ghanaians keep telling us the man they want is Alan Kyeremateng but the Party insists on taking Akufo Addo. We have indulged him for 6 years. We are facing another defeat in 2016 if we go with him. We will be in opposition to about 2020 or 2024 thanks to Akufo- Addo. We must drop him now and go for Alan

  Kyeremanteng can wait as there is every evidence by the split vote at the just ended Supreme Court case that Nana indeed did led NPP to victory in the 2012 elections only to be stolen by the old crook Afari Gyan supported by the old Nigerian criminal Obasanjo and now Atuguba as exposed at the court that Afari Djan has been imposing Presidents on us since our democratic dispensation.

  When nature bites you, it leaves various indelible signatures (marks) on you. This is what has enveloped Nana Addo.
  1- He was given a stool to stand on and be noticed during the presidential debate; a move that inhibited his movement, dictated his body language and unfortunately made him look like a programmed robbot.
  2-Now he is going to be 72 in 2016 and age has caught up with him. Should he be the flag bearer of NPP, not only would he request for the robotic inducing stool but a stick to keep him upright. If not, then a wheelchair elevated to the height of a pulpit. I won't talk about the kind of eye glasses to be designed for him.
  The question is would the NPP want to go through all these troubles? May be there is nobody in the party endowed with the characteristics of the office of the president after Kuffour eand Nana Addo.
  NPP, wake up and rebrand the formidable party we use to know!
  Remember, the Flagstaff house is not a nursing home or an intensive care unit of a Hospital.

  It was proper for others to contest the flagbearership in all the previous Primaries and it is sane and proper in all subsequent ones. It is the idea that only Nana Akufo-Addo qualifies to be NPP flagbearer until he drops dead that borders on lunacy. Let Appiah-Ofori keep playing a lifelong house servant to him. But others have better plans and eyeing more appropriate candidates for these times.

The only logic for NPP forcing that short man for the third time on Ghanaians is that only three tribes - Brong-Ahafo, Ashanti and Akim can be flag-bearer in NPP. It took them years to produce Abrefa Busia, long time before Kufour and now Addo. And he has to win or Supreme Court die be die. Let him treat himself and detox in three years before health physical then presidential aspiration if he passes the test.
