  You are actually deluded and have very shallow logic here. To be proud of your country has nothing to do with material possessions, it is pride that comes from the fact that htat is where you were born and has a place to call your home. There is nowhere on earth that everything is rosy. Unemployment and crime are abound in the western countries yet they feel proud they belong to their country. Ghanaians are the most tolerable people I have ever come across. We have live as different tribes and cultural for all these years, different religion some making lots of noise in the community but we have accepted each other and that is enough reason to be proud of Ghana. If the west had had these many tribes and language, with what we know today, they would not have thrived as they have done. Even they find if difficult to deal with few people that come from different countries to seek greener pasture troublesome to deal with. So rethink your assertion again because you are so wrong.

  During the last year or so its has become clear to almost every child the ethnocentric racist anti Akan vicious propaganda directed mainly against the innocent Ashanti and Akyems .Even here on this forum we witness the daily insults , defamation and systematic character assination of any Akan leader who dares raise his voice to cry foul. The Akans lead by the Fantis are fighting back just as they in the early 90's with prof eduboahen and this happened last year after the murder of Mills. these ewe and northerners think if they bribe a few paramount chiefs and buy off Akuffo Addo as they have done they can go back to the business of looting the coffers but not so . They are overwhelmed by the resistance which is being lead by the family heads and the clans . since most the people here writing under false Akan names dont see the difference continue to harass the ashantis and akyems who by the way rarely ever contribute anything to this forum . this prof awonoor has mislead his people into a war they will surely loose , battle after battle they are pounded and bashed , the sophistication of their devious divide and rule strategy has been exposed and backfired ,today the Akans are more united than ever so much so the the Ashantis and akyems no more participate but are standing on the sidelines watching as they are surprised at the fury and determination of the rest of the Akans to rid themselves of this yoke of oppression. Akans will never peacefully accept to be second class citizens like the Indians in Latin America and fight the hegemony and tribalism with these same tools rather than just brushing it off and pretending it doesn't exist . the battle-lines have been drawn in the minds of every Ghanian and as things escalate the business of governance is slowly grinding to a halt soon from verbal warfare we move to open rejection of the govt of the day which will most likely end up in true war . we can not build and develop a sustainable economy if the ayigbe and pepeni can only be focused on the destruction of the Akans and looting the wealth of the nation , sadly when we say this all they say is that their hate is justified and their time has come to chop some . let it be known Akans make up almost 70% of the population, have 90% of the wealth and natural resources and that this govt that practically has less than 10% Akan participation is illegitimate and even the foreign banks and investors have noticed this and are withdrawing , the rest like the Chinese , Indians , Muslim Lebanese and Turkish will soon risk never being paid . billions have been borrowed but nobody has seen any benefits but it has ended up in the bottomless pits of the greed of the ndc pepeni and ayigbe . we propose secession as a peaceful exit to this mess , if persuasion fails force will be applied , long live the republic of Akan

  I believe you`re lost in what this guy is trying to point out. Being proud of your nation is something each and every one would like to portray, but when it comes to reality, we`re lost citizens wondering around everywhere. If you`re proud of your country, I don`t you`d love to travel to where you are. Most of us have left the country for various reasons known to us individually. Where you`re you might turned away the Ghanaian citizenship to carry the citizenship of your abode of which no one knows. When the truth is there, there`s no point running away from it. The national team the Black stars when one of them stands out to point his views about issues, we condemn the player of not being patriotic without thinking of our various positions. If African leaders had been patriotic as we preach all the time, I don`t think Africans would suffer. We have all the resources to be a continent of satisfactory but the leaders have taken advantage of the weakness of the citizens and continue to do the wrong things. The guy was trying to point out the mistakes we have on the continent that we need to address them in a way that would satisfy all of us for a better continent. Just imagine, China putting up your headquarters for you and you`re happy while as the whole continent could have contributed to do it. Give praises to this fellow rather than condemning him. The black mind is such that when you tell the truth, you become an enemy in the society.
  Rawlings pulled up the trigger to kill people that had struggled to build their fortunes and ruled the nation for years and he`s now rich and he`s now worshipped by fools in the country. That`s what we look for.

You and your masters have always made the best efforts to put your country and people down at the least opportunity. This is because you are selfish and shortsighted. You continuously use riducule, baseless and populist arguements to fulfil the wishes of your masters, as you grovel for sugar water from them. Rome was not built in a day. And I dare say it was built by the Romans. Thanks.

  The issues ATO have highlighted above are the most relevant issues we have to address because that is causing Ghana to be under-develop.
  Our culture and value systems are NOT helpful. Some of culture and value systems include short-sightedness, lack of planning for future generations, lack of understanding of accountability and accountability systems implementation to help all Ghanaians, quick money mentality, "don't think" too much, "unfounded hoping", lack of strategic thinking, hero-worshipping, elder-worshipping without the need to question authority, nepotism, and many more.
  The issues above have CLOUDED the average Ghanaian's thinking such that we feel just being born in Ghana or being a Ghanaian is all there and what one should be proud of.
  This is why the Atta Mills "Brand Ghana" initiative failed. The issue is what are we branding as Ghanaians? Drumming and dancing? which sub-Saharan country can't drum and dance, or hospitality? this can be bought and sold and is sometimes misconstrued as folly, or our transport networks, public administration, etc. The point is we are only proud Ghanaians on hollow assumptions, there is nothing concrete to show for except our natural resources which almost every country on this earth has. We need to create a value systems we will truly differentiate Ghana and Ghanaians from others in the world. Docility is the only characteristic now which distinguishes the average Ghana but is this enough?
