Though I don't think age really mattered in the last election, but I strongly believe Nana Addo is a very easy target for NDC's propaganda. The NPP must elect a candidate who will be acceptable not only to the NPP but the whole nation. It is very clear from the last two elections that many Ghanaians don't like the man Akufo Addo. When it is easy to win, he loses.

I also know the NPP is the most popular party, but their problem is their presidential candidate. That does not mean he wouldn't be a good president, but the gullible nature of most Ghanaians makes it almost impossible for Nana Addo to win Ghana's presidential election. Why else could Mills and Mahama have won elections after NPP's impeccable achievements? Certainly the problem is Nana Akufo-Addo.

I would only agree (on the knowledge factor) if the incumbent president is going in for his second term. After all, a fresh president has no experience. His ability to appoint the best skilled, knowledgeable, trusting and obedient leadership team to steer the affairs of the state with him is what to look for..

But Radio XYZ online calculates the period between these two dates to be less than one year. You can find this in paragraph 3 as reproduced as "Ghana’s current President, Mr. John Mahama, was born on November 29, 1958, less than a year after Ghana gained independence on March 6, 1957."

Personally, I'm getting fed up with such unprofessional conduct. They must ensure that whatever they publish is correct.

For both NPP and NDC, the feel that "it is our turn" to occupy the castle is the main problem even though it is more pronounced with the Akyem-Asante devide in the NPP. NDC was only saved the last time round by divine intervention or fate with the passing away of Atta Mills. If Mills had served out his term, be it 4 or 8 years, Mahama young as he would be, could not have been the automatic choice for NDC. There simply was not enough time for them and luckly Mahama happened to be at the right place at the right time. It seems to be extremely difficult for NPP much as they would have wished, to experiment with any one who is not of Akan extration.

All over the world the youth think it is their turn to take over the mantel of leadership and the youth of Ghana are more than ready for leadership. If this is unduly delayed, the older generation should be ready to face rejection at the polls in 2016.
