I love the red carpet and the ceana 2013 photo banner. Chicago ayekoo. oh yes, the food was a lot and great! Beautiful hotel rooms and really , i mean really beautiful conference halls and rooms.

I have had the opportunity to attend a CEANA Conference in Toronto, Canada. It was a great event and am sure the Chicago one was even better given the fact of many years of experience gained.

I have had the opportunity to attend a CEANA Conference in Toronto, Canada. It was a great event and am sure the Chicago one was even better given the fact of many years of experience gained.

My question is, why do we Ghanaians always want to give our hard earned money to the other cultures in facility rentals? With all the events - marriages, funerals, baby naming ceremonies, conferences and so on,why can't we do these things in decent Ghanaian owned facilities? So Ghanaians in Chicago, Toronto, New York can't together own a Hyatt Regency Cormick Place? How much did it cost you? Multiply that by the 20 times that you have held this function and you tell me if that is not enough down payment for a similar place? Add those paid by Ashantis and Gas and Dagombas and Akwapims for similar functions and you know why we are still poor.

Please, let us be realistic when criticizing people.

Do you want us to stop having all these events up until such time that we are able to build our own hotel facilities?

Please, let us be realistic when criticizing people.

Do you want us to stop having all these events up until such time that we are able to build our own hotel facilities?

Can you advise how we can do that to stop using what you call "other cultures in facility rentals" or can you take the initiative to start one?

Do you think Ghanaians can be able to acquire these kind of facilities in all the states and the cities or it does not matter where they acquire it we have to go there even if it is not convenient to us.
It is easier said than done.

Having said that, the report that CEANA approved Colorado as the next year's CEANA host is inaccurate, there was nothing like that and CEANA does not approve a host city at convention preceding that city's convention, rather the associations are approved years ahead and the associations start preparing long before their predecessors host their events.
For example, Colorado was approved to host CEANA way back in 2006 in Dallas Texas together with Washington, Toronto and Houston which have all already held their conventions. making Colorado to be the last in that group to host the event.
We even have host cities up to 2020 already.
I hope next time we send accurate information to the public to educate them on what we do in our events.

these ewe people dont care about the youth. it is a bunch of oldies who come together and they give useless awards away to people for what, i dont know. they dont involve the youths in their programs. they could make this thing a whole lot fun but they have chosen to make it an akokora and abrewa event. someone needs to tell them they need a youth organiser. i dont think they have one. they need to make this very modern and they need to look to inviting musicians to perform etc. ayigbe edem for instance. i bet those old abrewa and akokora fools wont even want anything doing with modern songs. backwward old fools!!

Hey we had a youth program in Chicago. We had a speaker on youth programs. Al most all the cultural dancers are youth.

For the sake of the ignorance ones like you, CEANA is an umbrella organization that draws its membership from various associations but not an organization that individuals can apply to join.
We the individuals do not belong to CEANA rather the various associations we belong to are the members of CEANA.

You and the critics may have to try to attend CEANA conventions to see how many youths or young men and ladies are in leadership positions in the organization and I will appeal to you guys also to join the various associations that made up CEANA instead of coming to Ghanaweb to criticize.
If you belong to the young generation but do not want to join any local association how will CEANA get the youths in the organization?

Come and join the numerous young ones in the organization if you think we are too old.

Anyway, what is the cut off age to be old as you guys want us to believe, what make you think we are too old?
