nana is spent and a member of the old crony system of corrupt unscrupulous individuals who are partly to blame for the mess our country is in today . he served under one of the most corrupt presidents ghana has ever seen and up till today has never voiced out his opinion on these matters . imagine our gold being exploited by foreigners who do not care to invest a single penny in our economy , in fact the situation is worse than under outright colonialism . billions of dollars are siphoned out and we are forced into the vicious cycle of borrowing .Better NPP takes a fighter like ken agyapong instead of these fools and forked tongued criminals like nana , kuffuor and alan cash pepeni has no courage to pick competent ministers to rectify these woes nor reshuffle his cabinet to an all inclusive less tribal govt that taps into the strengths of all our people . he had the opportunity to be the best president the country has ever seen but rather chose the most selfish greedy idiots to ruin things further . let me remind him his attitude will lead to a new revolution and war that will have him and kuffuor lying in the gutter in their own blood . we are also the stakeholders of this nation and we say an adamant NO to the corruption and irresponsible attitude of the ruling oligarchy , long live the republic of Akan

We are not serious as a nation. If the ongoing saga about the sale of the drill ship is really true then, Ghana is in a serious trouble. How could this be that documents relating to the sale cannot be found anywhere? I have before and will not stop saying that "We are a failed nation" in the sense that our action is a true testimony to that. Every Ghanaian who knows how to scribble some words together, has some ill-will motive against the nation and what is the exact meaning to that?

It is beyond reason why we cannot open our heart to let things sail smoothly in the nation. Everything we do has some hidden agenda and it all boils to "me-myself-and-I mentality that is destroying Ghana.

We have a beautiful nation which we should protect all any cost. Despite the world being a global village, the best place one can feel good is his/her nation and it all depends on how we manage our affairs.

KT Hammond gave a very detailed account of the transaction with documentary evidence. Fortunately, as a lawyer, he had the foresight to keep copies of ALL the letters/faxes, everything that went into the sale of this particular rig (and I know about it!)

The vessel had been mortgaged in a futures gamble that went seriously wrong. Those who were involved in it didn't even have the common sense to stop their losses at $1m or even $10m, it went up to $47m, with the interest! The vessel gad been seized in Oman. Societe Generale was going to sell it for $20m and demand the balance from the Government of Ghana, the 100% owner of GNPC.

In desperation, President Kufuor sent KT Hammmond to London and Paris to try and solve the problem. Eventually he managed to beat the debt down to $19.5m, sold the rig for $24.m and paid off all the accumulated debts, including legal fees in London.

He then returned with a banker's draft for $3.5m and paid it to Bank of Ghana, through the Ministry of Finance. If the two incompetent institutions cannot find their documents, all the Commissioner needs to do is to go to he bank that issued the draft and ask to see who cashed the cheque. Any primary school child in Europe can do that. What is the big fuss?

Those responsible should be held accountable and if found capable of causing any financial lose to the nation, should face jail term. Even if my father was the prime target here, he should be arrested and jail.

Some of us are afield and having seen how our host nations have done well in development, we should put partisan politics aside and hold those in authority responsible. I do not thing the Belgium authorities are that reckless like ours back home else, I do not think you will feel good to reside there. Right?

The people who did the deal did not even have the sense to stop it at $1m or even $10m loss. It went up to $40m and by the time the interest was added, it was $47M.

The vessel in question had been seized in Oman, waiting for a court order to be sold for $20m, so the Government of Ghana, 100% owner of GNPC, could be sued for the remainder. Kufuor sent KT Hammond to deal with it. He managed to beat the loss down to $19.5m, sold the vessel for $24m, paid off all the debts and returned with a banker's draft for $3.5m, which he paid to bank of Ghana, through the Ministry of Finance. If Bank of Ghana and the ministry cannot trace the $3.5m, why can't the Commissioner go to the bakers and find out who cashed it?

if people like these with such criminal attitude were given the chance to rule the country why would we not be treated in this criminal way? they depleted our state coffers, sold to themselves at cheap prizes, government lands, bungalows and the landed properties of the Ghana airways. the 1979 revolution came so early. these are the characters that suppose to be lined up at the shooting and shot. corruption during the era of deawuo agyakum and his gang of thieves was so unprecedented in the history of our dear country. corruption allegedly committed by civilian and military governments in the country was a chicken feed to what these criminals committed in the eight years they ruled Ghana. Ghanaians should not be surprised to hear later on that the money realized from the sale of the GNPC drill ship had been shared by k4 and his gang of thieves. the late good old prof mills treated them with kit gloves and left them off the hook. now they have the shameless attitude to ask us to let them come back again and finish with our country. if they had not been booted out in 2008, they would have sold our country and Ghanaians to the white people. they are never satisfied with anything. shameless people!

come to think of it; initially GNPC said they do not have any information about this transaction and that they were never involved. Later on what do we hear? Now they were involved and they have some information about it.

Now SG says they do not have any records of the transaction!!! what do they mean???? Are they saying that ghana is still owing them this judgement debt???? if Ghana is not owing them how did ghana pay off their debt???? OR was the SG Tsatsu transacted with a different SG (may be one located in the Volta Region? and not the actual SG whose officials have been called for questioning???

To unravel the whole truth about this deal, it'd be proper they call all persons who were involved in this transaction both former govt officials and present, for questioning. Tsatsu should be called first; I can smell rat. KT hammond is talking here and there; he should also be called and Kan Dapaah.

Going by what KT is saying, if indeed the $3.5m cheque was made in the name of the govt of Ghana, there's no way anybody can cash it except the govt of Ghana. was the said cheque really cashed/deposited/lodged? Into which govt of Ghana account?????

In fact I dont thik there is any mystery sorounding this transaction at all; it's very simple.

What I suspect rather is, the current govt wants to cloud our minds and cause the citizenry to suspect that the NPP govt also paid judgement debts much the same as the WOYOME saga. This is shameful!!!!!

This is no difficult case at all if the sole commissioner is very serious about it. All persons involved in this saga are alive; Tsatsu, GNPC, KT Hammond, Kan-Dapaa "SG" etc etc. Call these guys and question them, period!!!!!
