He was removed from office because he was one of the few thinking African heads of state, one who, to use his own words, gave “history a revolutionary push”; the only one with a clear vision of not only where Ghana was going, but ultimately where Africa was moving to; one who gave impetus to practical visionary leadership by putting his project in motion; one who refused to be a puppet, dreamt a dream and lived the dream without sleeping on! If you don't know this then when will grow?

Indeed it was a response to a claim which I do not want to repeat here. On the issue of whether my piece has any contemporary relevance, I would say yes. Our only problem is that our current crop of leaders have no interest in the welfare of the people and their only concern is how to amass wealth while the greater majority live in squaller and penury. If we follow the good deeds of our forbears, especially selflessness, we will solve some of our problems. The solutions are there but endemic corruption and ineptitude blind our leaders and even ourselves, sad as it is. Again thank you Kwadwo and lets brighten the corner where we find ourselves.

He was very young like about 3 years when his father's government was overthrown and they together with their mother was matched to the airport by heavily armed army, you just imagine the trauma that they went through , sycologicaly and physically and I don't think they had any councelling during that time and authomatically that might have effect on them so please have a little sympathy for them.It's so pathetic.

They should allow the more colorful executives and members to go round the country speaking the language of the people, presenting eye catching policies, creating slogans that will be on the lips of the grassroots, targeting future voters by being attractive to jhs and shs pupils,highlight the weaknesses of the ruling ndc party. woyome in the morning,akonfem in the afternoon and then election fraud in the evening.
Money is obviously needed to do all this so fund raising activities should be constantly organised. The cpp MP candidate in my hometown was seen in charlie wartey pinning posters onto lamppost 3 days before elections. well, that is a disgrace.If you can't run a party then you certainly cannot run a country.if you can't win back the voters who went to the ndc, you can't win a football match against blindmen. The ndc party is full of baggage, thieves,lairs, their leaders lacks class,if you can come before the whole world and define over voting the way they did without shame then there's something fundamentally wrong with you. Personally I can't do that because people will feel I am stupid but the ndc leaders freely went ahead and did just that. These are the sort of people the cpp is fighting against.
Clearly the current leadership needs to go as they are not showing any zeal to get things done. PNC members and cpp members should know, it is possible for the cpp to win power. They need to pick leaders who can first of all unite the cpp and then come up with serious policies to ensure the cpp becomes the ruling party within 10 years or maybe less. It is true that Tsikata and co., which included John Tetegah, destroyed the CPP by luring core Nkrumaists and former CPP members, because the party had been banned after the 1966 coup, to form the NCP -supposedly to assimilate the PNDC and its supporters at the opportune time, when the junta had decided to dismantle. In the end, PNDC turned NDC as a rebrand party to fight the elections when the former was disbanded upon the advent of democracy, leading to the desolation of NCP when some of its leading members which included Ato Austin and others, and later Arkaah and Kojo Botsio, after the 1992 elections, had died and the rest had joined with the NDC. People realised later on that the arrangement to form the NCP was a ploy to lure ex CPP members and Nkrumaists to join NDC at its formation by Kojo Tsikata. There are others who argue that the original plan which was hatched, clandestinely by Kojo, would have been realised, but for Obasango, forming a party after his handover in Nigeria. His action heralded Rawlings to form his own party as he was aware of it to become successful because he has already got people to help him.

The CPP does not (and cannot) represent the great Osagyefo but NDC does. The message is simple: let the Samiahs and co return home to NDC and not even the sky will be their limit. Remember, it is Nkrumah (and not CPP) that never dies.

CPP seemed to be existing because some people with their large egos and pride are unable to bury or swallow them and identify with the NDC.
to say NDC destroyed the CPP, is like to say UP destroyed the UGCC, or PP destroyed the UP or to say PFP destroyed the PP, or to say NPP destroyed the PFP.
ghana's political structure is best orientated on a two party system. the colonialist versus the traditional ruler; then it metamorphosed into the colonialist versus the intellingentsia; then after independence the government in power(CPP tradition VRS the danquah busia tradition)
what the tradition actually is, is nkrumahist, rawlings tradition against danquah busia tradition.

I was 11years when Nkrumah was overthrown and I saw, Heard and witnessed a lot after that coup spearheaded by UP Tradition of now NPP. Please try and get somebody from CPP at that time and ask him why he is nomore with CPP.
Unecessary talks on AIRWAVES will never help you. 1)UP/NPP Tradition DIBANDED CPP 2)People (CPP) were prosecuted when you were sympathiser to CPP 3) Policemen were chased out from their working places. During Democratic election in 1969, NLC decreed for the name of CPP not to be heard in any Political Circle. Even, Nkrumah's books were disbanded. If you were seen to read or talk anything GOOD about Nkrumah, you are reliabe for prosecution.

Mr. Sekou try and give thanks to all Parties which have affiliation to your father's Party. Especially the thanks should go to Rawlings, Mills, Mahama and entire NDC Party who are still uphold the name of your father whom you so 'LOVE'. Please, my advise to you is that, try and take a bold decision to join one Political Party one Day and be faithful to the Party and stop the unecessary criticism so that you can have a chance to be flagbearer and if God wishes, a PRESIDENT in future. If you have what it take to revive CPP, do so and stop that Childish noise. Try and Know your History.

I was also in the primary school and my parents were staunch members of the CPP and my uncle was in the government, I was also a young member of the young pioneer so where did you get this information from? My uncle was arrested on 28th february 1966 in the morning and sent to ussher fort prisons before he was sent to James Fort and from there he and others were sent to the Nsawam prisons .28th february 1966 was a thursday , my parents never said to us that it was the UP party that made the coup stop these lies and propaganda, stop these lies and propaganda it is not going to help you .You people started looking for political power was when you joined Ghana, Ametowe was the first person to try to assassinate osagyefo and then followed with that coup, Afrifa was just used because they thought he was young in his 20s and could manipulate him and when they failed and he made himself the head of state they hated him untill they killed him.Stop it because some of us know everything.Don't pretend to love Dr.Nkrumah more than others.
