I can understand the depreication of thecedi...but ECG was using 1.50-1US dollar and now 2-$1US. So shouldn't the rates go up by 1/3 only?

If the price of kenkey is increased by 100%, and the cost of a tin of sardines is increased by 10%, the total cost is 2 + 11 cedis. Total cost = 13 cedis

Note that the price increase is is NOT 110%. It is (13-10/10)*100%, i.e., 30%

So how did we arrive at the "Light, water bills up by 250%" ??
