We understand the plight of the ECG, but the fact of the matter is that the ordinary Ghanaian will not be able to afford significant increases in electricity and also water. There are lots of illegal connections that should be looked into. Hopefully, when the gas project in the Western region is completed, the prices will become more stable. Ghana cannot afford the importation of just about every material. We have to start producing as well.

3. Non-supply of gas
My simple question is this, if you have identified your challenges, why not address them. Why must they turn to the consumer who is not responsible to carry their waste.
Will they come back for more. Where is our thinking cap. Surely it's not getting any better with these utility companies.

Graduated tariffs is the way to go.

An independent body should be tasked to examine the book of these Utility companies because they can "cook the books" just to punish the general public while the salaries of their top management skyrocketed.

There can be no justifiable excuse for this kind of a rate increase. If this additional amount of funds are now needed, with over 100% increase it is due to incompetence, mismanagement and corruption of past operations. If in the past and present for that matter, proper management and operations rate would only increase by a small percentage each year as inflation and wages etc. increase. The government here in Ghana owns all the utilities, a look at how these utilities are runs is also a window into how the government in Ghana is run.
