  It has come to our attention that the sale of GNPC vessel MV511 to settle the so called judgement debt incurred as a result of administrative and financial differences between the GNPC and Societe General is been turned into a rationalization of reckless and unpatriotic episode by the NPP.
  We of the MAG wish to condemn the act of the then Minister of Energy Hon. Kan Dapaah, his deputy Hon. K.T. Hammond and Minister of Justice and Attorney General Hon. Nana Addo Danquah AKuffo Addo and in general the Kuffour administration.
  We are doing so because of the indifference and careless manner spokespersons of the NPP are making about the saga.
  We ask the following questions:
  (1)Who were the advisors for the whole transaction up to the point of sale of the ship?
  (2)Was there value for money in the valuation of the ship?
  (3)Was there any judgment in respect of the case?
  (4)Per the Bank of Ghana Act; Act (612) the Bank of Ghana shall lead in any financial transaction, be it local or international. So the question is, was the Bank of Ghana involved in this transaction?
  (5)Was payment made in cash or cheque?
  (6)If it was cheque, how was it disbursed?
  (7)By whose consent was it disbursed?
  (8)Who authorized the payment of up to $ 1 million (One Million US Dollars) as legal fees?
  (9)Where is the balance of $ 3.5 million?
  (10)Why were the first external Solicitors withdrawn from the case?
  (11)Why did the new Solicitors led by Nana Akuffo Addo failed to appear in court on several occasions?
  (12)Was there any sinister reasons for so doing?
  We asked the above questions for and on behalf of the million Ghanaians and plead with Civil Society Organizations to do same so that the running of corporate Ghana should never go down there again.
  Finally, these questions demand answers from Kuffour led administration, the then Attorney General Hon. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and the then Minister of Energy and his deputy Hon. Kan Dapaah and Hon. K.T. Hammond

  You cannot own a big asset like a drill ship and not have documents to prove ownership. Nana Addo approved sale of the ship without documentation or the documents are lost just like his law certificate which he did not have in the first place.
  
  If there was no sale documentation, it appears then that the French company, SG, is not the rightful owners and we can go and claim the ship from wherever it is stationed.
  
  If we go to court to claim ownership, the French company, SG, will be forced to show ownership documents and every detail of the transaction will come to light. Omg, what happened in the Kuffuor administration? Bunch of thieves if you ask me.

  Never! All documents pertaining to a court action executed are to kept for good. No limitation of years (docs without court action may have limitation). Societe Generale should produce them. Also Ghana can get the value (amount paid) of the asset sold at Dutch Shell, Frontier Discoverer by the Norwegians now called Noble Discoverer. Their books should show the asset value and the depreciated amount to date. They should be asked why they did not pay the money to Gov of Ghana. You never pay such money to the court, though the court can order you to pay to the plaintiff.
