Perhaps the prof was misunderstood in what he was reporting.

For your info, Rawlings is first a Scot and second an Akan because it is from the Akan Land that his children will inherit from.

Captain Kojo Tsikata was never the brain behind June 4th. Indeed, he only was recruited to help to manage the Security after 31st December 1981.

Likewise his cousin Tsatsu Tsikata, assisting with the legal frameworks and so on.

I was shocked and saddened by Prof. Kofi Awoonor, death. I know I will miss him, but I am glad that I was able to get to know him so well. He has been a blessing from God. I will be praying that God will bless you and give you strength at this time.
Good father hold a special place in their hearts for their children and most children hold a special place in their hearts for their father. I'm sorry for the hole that you have now. "Great people such as your father are an inspiration to those who they are around. Your father will continue to be an inspiration for me even though he has passed. He will live on in my memory and thoughts. It is an honor that I was able to call your father my dad. I can't help but smile on the inside when I think about the legacy he is leaving behind. He taught a lot to his children and his children's children. Think about all the generations that will be blessed in some way by the life he lived. To himself everyone is immortal; he may know that he is going to die, but he can never know that he is dead. God called home another great servant and saint. He feeds us, teaches us, loves us, and spends time with us. When he leaves us, he lives on through us. What I remember most about your father was his wisdom and warm-heartedness. He was patient and never seemed to speak ill of others. "A father is someone who cares a lot whether you have just scraped your knee or found out about a terminal illness. I admire the life that your father lived, and I can only hope that I can have as strong of a finish to my life as he did. Your father will be greatly missed and we are sorry for your loss. Even at our birth, death does but stand aside a little. And every day he looks towards us and muses somewhat to himself whether that day or the next he will draw nigh. I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. This the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.
For a culture that has such a problem with death, we seem to deal with it in a quite bizarre way. We see people shot, killed and blown up, and we find it funny and sexy and all those things. But, the reality of it is that every day people die, and people are really sad and they grieve and they go through a really difficult process with it.

Infact, that was when I got to know of him. I was in secondary school then. Unlike his govt, the military govt of the day, set him free to go and continue his teaching. When he noticed the embarrassment that the book was causing him managed with the PNDC to withdraw the book from circulation. He was an epitome of tribalism which could have divided the nation.

He had later invited several of us to his house, for leisure, and had regularly visited various schools, which had Ghanaian students. Such schools included the Kwame Nkrumah Secondary School (Vente Ocho, 28), on Isla de Jeventud. From Cuba, he was sent down to New York, as Ghana's Ambassador to the UN.
