GHANA CAN IN DEED ONLY OVERCOME ITS CHALLENGES WHEN WE GET A GOVERNMENT THAT CARES MORE ABOUT PROGRESS THAN REMAINING IN POWER.

It is very hard to read stories like these and not TO comment. Had this drain or gutter been in an European country it would certainly be used as a CANAL to take people from place to place to ease traffic congestion in Greater Accra. It would have been cleaned and no debris would be found in it. The question I am asking is, who is the Minister responsible for "Canals" or gutters in Ghana if you like?. Was the government not aware of this health hazard when they [the NDC] campaigned under the slogan of " Ide Bee Keke" .In spite of this filth, voters turned the blind eye to give the NDC one more time by voting for them?.
Surely the NPP would want to put an end to their bitter in-fighting and to focus on a mess like this river/canal/gutter in Accra. It must be remembered that one of the best services that can be rendered in our nation today can only come from a strong, effective and serious Opposition party in our House of Parliament and definitely not an opposition party that is busily thinking about 2016 Flag bearership when there are loads of important contributions to be made on behalf of the whole nation.Hopefully the Progressive People's Party[PPP] shall have the chance in 2016.The NPP has rendered itself incapable of doing a good job in Parliament due to the obvious internal divisions it is experiencing . I bet they are equally disunited in the house of parliament. The only difference is that they are being paid for being in Parliament and are satisfied at that.
But the PPP is Awake. Time Will Tell.

Banning the sale and use of sachet water and plastic bags is the solution. In their place bottled water and paper bags which are all reusable and recyclable should be promoted. Collection of the used bottles and papers for reuse and recycling will provide jobs for the youth and schoolchildren before and after school.

Common sense is not common to Africans, reasonable thinking city planners will not allow people to put up shanty town in the middle of their city let alone their national capital. Accra has turn out to be the biggest slum city in west Africa, there are zongos all over Accra, and filth is flowers stench has replaced fresh air, sickness is killing our young and old due to infections from filth that has engulfed the city. Accra is the most polluted and filthiest city in west Africa, and those in charge are so myopic that, they will rather drive their car windows rolled up to avoid the stench and the filth to their million dollar mansions, and consider themselves affluent, what a joke, a visitor to Ghana will equate you and the poor as filthy as well. help get rid of all the slums in Accra to save life because coming epidemic will kill a lots of people if, it is not kept in check.
