Your economy is not strong and sturdy when your development partners have substantially increased their levels of budget support to approximately 30 percent of Official Development Aid. Actual multi-donor budget support in 2012/2013 was estimated at US$425 million, or 21 percent of total assistance, while un-earmarked sector budget support is another US$140 million (7 percent).

Unfortunately, the government is not aware that for the economy to be strong and sturdy it is not the matter of everyday propaganda. However, the need to pursue stabilization over the next several years, while encouraging growth through reforms in productive infrastructure, agricultural modernization, private sector development and investment in social services

Opposition always have something to say because they are not the once in charge. The creating of jobs, good transport system require a lot of money, the question we should be asking is how are we going to create a system that can repay these monies being invested. However putting Ghana's economy in it's right and proper perspective, Ghana's growth rate has started to decline consecutively over the past 2 years, from a high of about 13-14%, in 2010-11, on the back of oil exploration and production, with it projected to be at about 7%, steadily declining from figures from last year, hovering around 8.5%. Ghana is going backwards and the President is being extremely economical with the truth. The economy of the country is in the tanks, FDI has dwindled on the back of the lack of critical infrastructure to sustain growth, mismanagement of the economy, coupled with huge doses of marked incompetence and ineptitude, lack of policy direction and focus, outright failure of some policies, which are at best ad-hoc in nature, with no clear cut long term strategic goals, fueled by humongous thievery and looting of the national purse, have all culminated to create huge challenges for Ghana's economy and policy experts, CSO's, the business community, labour, the clergy, think tanks, the citizenry, etc, etc, are complaining about the dire straits which have been visited on Ghanaians, by the Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration with no end in sight. It is extremely inappropriate for JM to be skewing the facts on the ground to such an august body. It leaves a sore taste in the mouth of well meaning and right thinking individuals of society.
