Where does the Ghanaian media pick up these stragglers from nowhere, slap the labels 'analysts' and 'experts' on them and then proceed to give them license to babble about what they obviously dont know or things that are obvious to everybody. If it wasnt so serious it would have been a big joke.

Somebody should tell that guy that our President is not going to live in a bunker and distance himself from the people who voted him into power. He will continue to live in the Flagstaff house or whatever it is now called and as much as possible he will continue to live like how a human President should live like.

The only terrorists we have had in this country were from the NPP tradition and I believe they have now calmed down considerably after deposing Kwame Nkrumah. It seems that they have now realized that they can use the courts to solve their political wahala.

Secondly, there is nothing that the managers of the Accra Mall can do about stopping terrorists if they really want to go there and cause carnage.

The fool who claims to be the manager of the Accra mall should not have granted any interview at all on the subject. It can only bring fear in the hearts and minds of potential shoppers - particular the expatriate clientele who presumably make up their largest income earners. If he proceeds in this direction, the Mall will definitely lose shoppers and good business. In any case, if terrorists bombed a Mall in Nairobi, it does not necessarily mean that they will only focus on malls all over the world.

The best way to avoid terrorism of any kind is to keep our international relations sane, sensible and peaceful. If we go and stupidly align ourselves with people who are getting themselves involved in other peoples business and supporting mayhem all over the world, of course there will be unpleasant repercussions and retributions that we may not be able to contain or manage.

The truth is that we just simply cannot afford to invite this kind of trouble into our country. It would be too expensive and we dont even have the necessary administrative infrastructure or the defensive equipment to make any viable or meaningful arrangements to contain or repel such attacks. The bottom line is that we dont want it to happen at all. Period!

Secondly, I dont think we want to live like others who do, by creating something like a police state where you are frisked at every public place and you have fearsome and heavily armed policemen and soldiers standing everywhere you go. The very suggestion of violence begets violence in return and we dont want that.

We should keep our country sweet and simple. No stirring of the hornets nest anywhere. As much as we can, we should mind our own business and not get involved in other peoples quarrels. We dont have issues with anybody anywhere outside this country and thats the way we should keep it. I am sure we all know what needs to be done to keep it that way.

There is a global "jihad" against Americans, Isrealis and Christians. Presently there are Islamic Clerics in Wa in the Upper West Region preaching jihad against "infidels" and urging young people to sign up in foreign countries. They will be trained and radicalised to the extend that the ringing of bells in schools and singing in churches will be enough provocation to attach people in Ghana.

However there will be a heightened sense of insecurity at public places by the public for a while. It is due to the paranoia that follows such events. The likelihood of Ghana suffering from a terrorist attack is however remote. If there is one, it may more likely come from quarters that may want Ghanaians to take a firm antagonistic stand against Moslems.

Mind you we live in a funny world where America of all people is actively financing and equipping Al Qaeda, the No1 terrorist group in the world, to fight against the Syrian govt.

When National Security advised against the relocation of former President MIlls to Jubilee house as it was called, he took a flack. Now it is very clear that president office is actually within easy reach of snippers with heavy machines. secondly it has no aerial cover, the place is too bare, no vegetation, pictures can be taken to guide any missile attack from a distance. The closeness to the main road is another matter. Well armed terrorists can shoot their way from 37 hospital direction into the place. From behind it is even easier. So what security considerations were taken into account by the Indians when putting up this pink elephant? The castle on the otherhand is rock solid. It is protected from one from one front by the sea, very difficult to target by air. The road to the castle is almost one kilometre, with reinforced gates. The office of the president is out of view until one is well inside past the third gate. All that is needed is to resettle a couple of natives from nearby and redo the building. Rawlings at the time he faced so many counter coups had to relocate there, where he remained till he left. Security cannot be sacrificed for political expediency. We ignore this advice at great peril to our presidency, no matter who is the occupant of the flagstaff house at any given time. The place is simply insecure.
