When have the utilities use the increases in tariffs in fixed assets? Anytime there is any increase, we are told it is to be used for capital investments.

The supposition that if the plant gets to be fueled by natural/thermal energy we could enjoy life in Ghana is an absurdity and an insult. The reason Ghana's utility companies and associated agencies are bound to fail lay squarely in their inability and or incompetent approach to effective collection of revenue from subscribers. Why must ECG, for example, purchase numerous Toyota pickup trucks with an average price tag of $45,000? Are these trucks driven by pencil pushers in the AC offices to move anything of value? These are vehicles that enable staff to use government vehicles as personal moving trucks when they need to transport personal items. We could be lucky to get fuel that is free to run our plants and that will not save us from ultimate failures that is, by design built, into our government provided service agencies. Look at Ghana Post office or Ghana revenue and that should tell a lot about operational and management abilities in Ghana where most of these organizations are headed by college credentialed individuals some of who can boast of doctorate degrees in meaningless fields of discipline
