Some of these pastors even have ATM machines inside the church, where as, members have no choice but to give their tithe each week. Sounds like money-making scam to me.

It appears to me this Bro. Amartey is a propaganda secretery for anti-christ who want to deceive many to disobey God. Befoere I make any comment I want to ask this Bro. Amartey a simple question why government needs tax or takes tax for. Is it not to expand infrastructure and to expand the economy?
In Malachi 3:10, as Amartey claims has been wrongly interpreted, God said "Bring all tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house". The store house here is the house of God, ie, the Kingdom of God on earth. Therefore to pay tithes into God's kingdom, no doubt, is to expand the kingdom business and to support the needy and those who have denied themselves for doing God's work.
There is no doubt that there are some men who call themselves 'men of God'and are using the name of God and the Bible deceiving many. This does not mean that it is wrong and unscriptural to tithe.
Tithing is not Old Testament Jewish law, because Abraham tithed 430years before the law was given to Moses (Galatians 3:17; Genesis 14:17-20). Jacob, Abraham's grandson, also paid tithes long before the law was given to Moses (Genesis 28:20-22).
2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness". God is not a contradicting God, it is the way people interprete the Bible like Bro. Amartey is doing here. If you do not understand something, ask and do not put yourself into danger. It is very dangerous to bend the Word of God (Revelation 22:18). There is no space to say all but if you want to understand why we MUST pay tithes, email me at (mymessages@yahoo.co.uk). PASTOR IS A TITLE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SOMEONE WHO LEADS THE FLOCK BUT MANY DO NOT. MANY HIDE UNDR TITLES TO SLEEP WITH MARRIED WOMEN, LIE ABOUT PROPHECIES, BRAIN-WASH THE CHURCH AND ROB THE CHILDREN OF GOD BLIND THROUGH TITHES.

TITHES IN THE BIBLE WAS NEVER COLLECTED IN MONEY. IT WAS ALWAYS FOOD. BRING THE TITHES SO THERE WOULD BE FOOD IN MY HOUSE. THOSE WHO BROUGHT MONEY WERE ASKED TO BUY FOOD WITH THE MONEY AND BRING THE FOOD TO THE TEMPLE.

CARPENTERS AND FISHERMEN DID NOT PAY TITHES. THE TEMPLE DID NOT TAKE TITHES FROM PEOPLE LIKE JESUS WHO WAS A CARPENTER. CAN YOU PROVE ME WRONG FROM THE BIBLE? ONLY FISHERMEN AND ANIMAL HERDERS PAID TITHES.

THE POOR DID NOT PAY TITHES. THE POOR AND WIDOWS WERE GIVEN TITHES TO SURVIVE. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG. IT IS SINFUL TO TAKE TITHES FROM THE POOR AND THEN PROMISE THEM BLESSINGS. ONE SHEEP WAS TAKEN OUT OF TEN AS TITHE. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN TEN SHEEP, YOU DID NOT PAY.

MEN OF GOD IN THE BIBLE LIKE PROPHETS DID NOT TAKE TITHES SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DID THE WORK OF GOD. ONLY THOSE FROM THE TRIBE OF LEVI RECEIVED TITHES, AS WELL AS THE ORPHANS AND POOR. THE LEVITES RECEIVED TITHES BECAUSE THEY WERE POOR. PROBE ME WRONG FROM THE BIBLE.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST BROKE THE CURSE OF THE LAW, IT BROKE THE CURSE OF TITHES. IT IS A LIE AND A CON MADE TO TERRORIZE THE CHILDREN OF GOD THAT WE ARE UNDER A CURSE IF WE DONT PAY TITHES.

ARE YOU UNDER A CURSE IF YOU DONT SACRIFICE ANIMALS TO GOD? GIVE TO GOD WILLINGLY, NOT LEGALISTICALLY. WE ARE VICTORIOUS UNDER THE BANNER OF HIS BLOOD. THE CURSE IS ON THOSE WHO ROB THROUGH TITHES IN THE CHURCH.

Jesus did not accept tithe. How did Jesus and the apostle spread the gospel? Jesus was from the tribe of Judah, so he cannot accept tithes. That was unlawful and sinful.

Pstors cannot accept tithes today.

If Christ sp[read the word, if Paul < matthew and Mark spread the word without tithes, I can also do it.

THE TITHE CARD, THE SPECIAL PRAYERS FOR TITHERS ARE ALL FORMS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL FORCES. NOT TO MENTION THE SCARE TACTICS- YOU ARE ROBBING GOD! IF YOU DON’T AY TITHES YOU ARE UNDER A CURSE! GOD WOULD TAKE AWAY FROM YOU IF YOU WITHHOLD TITHES FROM HIM! THE PRESSURE IS EVERYWHERE. ONLY THE LEECHES AND PARASITES WHO BENEFIT FROM THE TITHES DON’T SEE THE PRESSURE.

Use the money to take care of the church and help the poor and the needy among you. That was exactly how Christ lived on earth. Unlike the Otabils, Duncan Williams, TB Joshua, Benny Hynns etc who had built financial empires for their families for life using tithing of the poor.

That was not what inteded Tithes and offerings to be used for.

Elder Opoku calls himself christian yet does not know Christ. Give me just one instance where Jesus instructed people to tithe or any of the Apostles instructed anyone to tithe? A poor soul who is definitely going to hell for putting himself under the law instead of the Grace of our Lord Jesus. Elder Opoku you claim God's store house means the house of God and by extension the Kingdom of God. If this is not bending and twisting the word of God then I do not know what bending is. How ridiculous to equate state taxes to the seemingly blantant robbery from congregations in this conutry with the pretext of thithes.I am a devout christian in the Presbytarian church and none of the rubbish happenning in the charismatic churches ever happen here.The thithes issue is fast becoming a mantra for the apostolitic churhes promising heaven and riches to congregations in the same way jihadist promise heaven to indoctrinated sucide bombers. Offering is a voluntary exercise, priest dont have to pontificate and employ the tactics to harrass unsuspecting worshipers hand over their fortunes to enrich arrogant and ignorant priests. They had regular monthly ' Nkasaho' before communion and members paid their dues..It was what was then known as 'sunsum sore' translated as 'spiritual churches' became popular around Aceampong and Rawlings time..The curfews of PNDC era gave room for these charlatans to manipulate the vulnerable. Visa promises, prosperity promises, etc..accentuated the inherent 'someone else-is-responsible-for-my-failure culture' of the African and Ghanaian in particular. You see before these curfews, there was a vibrant night life in Ghana- Orion, Odeon, Rivoli, Globe, Rex etc suddenly these cinema halls and other warehouses were converted into CHURCHES..why? because Ghanaians were glued to videos (stay home entertainment) and the abandoned cinema halls were converted.. So Opoku, trust me..tithe is a new phenomenon in Ghana orchestrated by the 'new' Churches to fleece the gullible. It is his aim to appeal to our unsanctified human nature--which represents him-- to impoverish the coffers of the church so that supporting missionary activities and paying pastors will be nearly impossible. Thus discouraging people from entering the ministry.

How else can the church help a society in need if it can't even pay for a full-time pastor? A church located in a poor neighborhood may give very little offering which may not even pay for the maintenance of the building, let alone pay a pastor. God's work cannot be done by the unsanctified human whims. The tithe is a systematic and holy way (Lev 27:30) of carrying on the Lord's work.

The tithe could be paid in money in the OT.

"And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose" (Deuteronomy 14:24-25).

Question 1:
In John 4:23 Jesus said to the woman at Jacob's well "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

1 b. Did Jesus ever say that the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers will stop paying tithes?

Is there any intimation anywhere in the bible that tithe payment obligation will end in the Old Testament dispensation, and that New Testament believers will not need to pay tithes?

The less emphasis given in the New Testament about the tithes does not necessary mean that the New Testament believers are free not to pay tithes.
Case in point is God's Law (Ten Commandments). The fact that it has received less emphasis in the New Testament, and the most populous church in the world today, made changes to it in the 4th century AD, does not necessary mean that God abrogated his Law at the cross, neither more does the abuse of the tithes in the years after the first century indicate that tithe paying in the New Testament is unbiblical.

Question 2.
Did Jesus know that the tithing will continue after he leaves this world? (Yes.) Note his unspoken agreement of tithing in this text:

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone" (Matthew 23:23).

"These"-- That is, the less weighty things that often consisted primarily in outward form. Jesus here approves of tithing. Neither He nor any NT writer in the least relaxes the obligation. Jesus makes it clear that He was not against tithing as such, but against the hypocritical spirit of the scribe and Pharisee, whose religion consisted in the scrupulous observance of the forms of the law.

God is looking for a people who will represent him correctly through his grace, the unmerited favor by which God gives us the character of Christ by freeing us from the guilt and power of sin. It is grace which makes obedience to God's law possible-- "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30). May God help us to represent him correctly by surrendering ourselves and all we have to him as we walk with him through his grace!

"... but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word" (Isaiah 66:2).

The middle name speaks for itself "ru". And the first is "Je". Putting it together, we get ;Jesus_rule_salem. or Jew_rule_salem, where Abraham/Isaac/jacob was not a jew but hebrew. Jesus Christ was a jew. Jews comes under Moses.

Christian giving is based on: 1)cheerful giving; 2) whatever you give determines what you are going to get back. The problem with tithing is it does not make one free in Christ Jesus is it is tied to a curse. People can choose to tithe but it is still a form of giving. What is amiss is the preaching that your tithes belong to God before the actual offering in even required. I think a little bit too much for most congregation when some of the Pastors end up being rich and not helping the poorer members of the congregation. It is American capitalistic Christianity.

They even go to the extend of telling them how much seed they ought to sow. Here in the UK the amount demanded, is usually a minimum of £500. This is demanded after they have asked you to step forward for prayers. In this way people are put under pressure to part with the money, as some pastors insist after you've come to the front that you go back and sit down if you do not have the amount being demanded. what a shame.

Take it or leave it, but as christians we have to obey abd believe the whole bible, not part of it. I don't see the problem people have with Malachi3:10-12.Is it the pastors who wrote that verse? People have problem with giving to the Lord's work, but can donate money willingly elsewhere. You cannot pay for God's blessing with tithes or animal sacrifice. Jesus blood replaced all that. His blood cleared the curse of the law. You are not under a curse if you don't pay tithes. Pastors are telling your money.

Still, you have not provided any scriptural basis for your statement. In the old Testament, you sacrifice animals. Do you still do that because it is in the Bible? That would be a very simplistic view of scripture.

The fact that some people have made themselves rich from the tithes does not invalidate the tithing command. Jesus said, I have have not come to destroy or overthrow the law but to fulfill it. Do not be deceived, the tithes were for the priest, and as long as there are Priest , there will continue to be tithing. Are you saying you know the Bible more than the Christian country which has decided to pay all the tithes that anybody living and working there has paid by making them write it off during tax returns. In America, when filing your tax, there is a section that you are asked for the tithe and offerings you paid to churches and contributions to non profits, the government will give you all the tithes and offering back, eg. If you made 100,000 and you paid10,000 the government will give you back your ten thousand tithe in a form of tax write up,what they are doing is , the nation is paying the tithes indirectly thru her citizens, that is one of the reasons why the nation is still blessed. Why will you believe some part of the Bible and not believe the other
