Once upon a time charcoal and or wood was/is the only means of energy for cooking for about 98 percent of the population .
The question is what alternative sources of energy for cooking did those who matters introduced into the Country before the legislation banning the chain Saw Operators.
The answer to the question is non.And how should the leadership in the Country pass such a legislation which shakes the foundation of our livelihood.
Vigorous reforestation drive should have been the interim and a long term solution,while the poor weak and vulnerable chain saw operators were gradually phased out in a period of time ;say (25-35)years on condition that there are adorable means of green energy to cook our foods.
This Case is a very good example of how some CEO's,Ministers,legislators,and the entire leadership adds more problems to existing ones to overburdened the people instead of resolving the problems with common sense approach.
Meanwhile large forest concessions are given to foreign Timber Companies who actually deforest the environment all in the name of foreign investment and no one blinks an eyelid.
There is not an iota of Sense putting these
poor people who were hustling to make a living in jail.It seems some of our laws in Africa is used to intimidate our own people.
People are jailed on lack of Common Sense approach to issues by the leadership.
