I relate this FDA action SSNIT's, which landed Mr Aggudey in jail and heave a sigh of relieve that my favorite saying of President Obama is slowly showing up in Ghana - that Africa needs strong institutions rather than strong men.

With this, I fully support the action of FDA and urge them to fish out and take same action against many more companies with such products. Their action should not be against imported products alone but also against made in Ghana goods, especially those that we use on our bodies. Aside those used for/and on our bodies products like electric cables must be inspected and subjected to same punishments if found bad.

WE ARE TIRED OF FAKE AND INJURIOUS PRODUCTS!

With the sacked workers , they have my sympathies and I pray that Almighty God find each one of them better jobs.

These days people go to hospitals, medications are prescribed for them but it does not work and they end up dead. Its about time more of this happens. If really beleive he has not imported fake drugs, he will submit his proves to the FDA and save his company. But for now, some of us smell rate following his reaction! I hope those workers asked to go have been payed off with what is lawfully due them; if not they can also sue the company in court for being unlawfully laid off. This Amu Tobin man is a fool from my stand, because from all I can see he has just thrown away his bargaining chip by laying off workers what would he do next. What every administration would do would be to immediately start working with the FDA and put everything on the table for the FDA to see how best to go around the issue by conducting test and probably certifying those drugs that can meet the standards in a very quiet manner and not jumping on the press wagon and playing media antics. Just yesterday they were with the BNI and FDA and from what I read even the Indian company says they have not done any clinical test so if you Tobinco who did not manufacture but buying from the person saying he has not tested it clinically then what is your stand? In this instance you can straight away get the Authorities to handle the case in house and work with them to retract the drugs and find the next good alternative to the medicine you do so with the inclusiveness of the Authority and you stay in Business because at the end of the day its all about health and food to eat. OK now you have laid of workers, the authorities can also now go ahead to conduct an environmental cost of your actions and what if you are found guilty? no amount of Money and power would get you from going to jail and being find if you are not careful and the find is big you loose all your properties so where do you stand. Stop trying to do attitude of trying to boast arround after all there were some other pharmaceutical companies like letap and others befor you came and they are still there. Stop trying to feel so big in your shoes and get things going. by now its a management memeber who has failed t do his job. Did you not hear about a month agoe that Glaxosmithkline was also being charged in china for bribery? and what happened to them did they lay off any employee?

The company must realize that this a making of its own.They have breached laid down regulations which have the support of both local and international law.Before a drug is released to the public it must have gone through clinical test and trial anything other than that is a criminal offence.

This company was well aware of the rules or law but chose to ignore it because of financial gains and greed so they have themselves to blame.Sending the workers home do not solve the problem, it exacerbates it because they are not only required to pay redundancies but are required to pay compensation for constructive dismissal.

This company can not use its workers as scapegoats and a blackmail for what they have brought upon themselves.The consequences are theirs alone and only theirs and must leave the workers out of it.We expect the law to take its full course because these people have toyed with human lives.

I used to work at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis as a Technical Administrator in charge of coordinating the submission of corporate reference standards between the mass spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared, X-ray crystallography, HPLC(high performance liquid chromatography) and the internal standards office. All spectroscopic data on all drugs made by Eli Lilly were kept on file electronically in their standards office. Quality control samples of manufactured batches were matched against these standards. There was an interesting case where Eli Lilly had agents all over the USA bringing in samples of Cialis to test for authenticity. They used FTIR spectroscopy because it was very fast. The FDA has to match the spectroscopic data on the fake drugs with standard data in their files to prove that they are fake.
