Let us ask the Daily Guide on whose watch was the Single Spine Salaries Structure was hatched? What would have happened if the scheme was not implemented as a whole? What would have been the consequence of gradual implementation? Would workers await their turns for years without recourse to agitation? What about the accumulation of arrears if some workers were left unpaid SSS for a longer period? It may seem a "quest for cheap political points" in the eye of the Daily Guide for the gov't to implement the scheme wholly, but it seems irresponsibly naïve of the government which decided the Single Spine Salaries scheme, which unfortunately was the NPP gov't - the Daily Guide's own paymasters and supporters or partners-in-decision-making and its dissemination. The SSSS is as abnormal as it is untenable. No serious economic country would make this policy.
