Dr Bawumaih is a good man but Im sorry to say not a natural politician at this moment. He is just as dull as Mahama. He cannot deliver any additional votes to the NPP since its rumored that most of his own family is either NDC or CPP. He isn't so popular even in the North how much less the rest of Ghana?

I think Alan partnered with a Ga, Fante, Bono, or another popular Northner will do. Dr Bawumia would have been a better candidate if he was popular with all the natural characteristics of a natural politician. Unfortunately he isn't inspiring enough.

Others like Aliu Mahama who joined the campaign trail may have been invited along the way. Why do you guys want to make a mole hill out of nothing. Nana Addo lostthe election on his own merits with the connivance of Afari Djan. It seems Ghanaian electorates just don't like him apart from the NPP supporters.The fact that he lost 10 regions in two elections in a row shows that Ghanaian electorates are not comfortable with him being the President. He has had his chances, and he must bow out graciously and give somebody a chance. If he runs again it means he wants power at all cost as the propagandists in the NDC have been screaming. NPP will lose heavily if they make the mistake of making him the flagbearer again.

You are just right. NPP should get away from the created mentality that an Asante or Akyem person should be the flagbearer whenever they have to choose a prez candidate. Though they go to congress and elections are held, they should look for people who are also marketable from other groups. They should realize that it creates factions within the party-Like the Asante faction and Akyem faction.
This does not mean NDC is not guilty too. I can bet with my last Cedi that Mahama would never have been the flagbearer for NDC if Mills had not died at the time when he died. The Ahwois, Totobis, Botchway, and the ET Mensahs would not have allowed that. They would have voted for someone from the South. NDC also has factions. That is a truism. PNP brought in someone from the North, Limann who had no hands in the formation and running of the party not because they loved a Northner but rather they brought him to avoid internal struggle for power, and also be able to control him since he was an "outsider". That is what they did. Limann was just a "figurehead" and not a president.

From the records we all know that Mr Alan Kyeremanteng 'de-camped'- resigned from NPP when he lost the flagbearership to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. Thanks to late Da Rocha, Mr Kyeremanteng returned to NPP. May be at that time he went into the competition simply because he counted massively on Kufuor and other's. support. In fact, they were firmly behind Mr Kyeremanteng but as he realised, politics is a different game. There is always 'meeting before meeting' in politics. Alan Kyeremanteng has a long way to go in politics. Nana definitely may not the right guy for NPP to gain the winning votes from all the 10 regions but Alan Kyeremanteng could just be a window dressing image. NPP must think very carefully. NPP must think a national vote winner not a party darling boy. Don't tell me 'I didn't tell you so'

Who said Alan is NPP's sure bet in 206? This is completely false! Alan cannot be NPP's best presidential candidate for the next elections; with what Ghanaians have seen esp. in the election petition case, Nana Akufo-Addo is still the man to beat.

What ever be the case, what Ghanaians know is that Akufo Addo cannot win any elections for the NPP, rigging or no rigging. 2012 was his last opportunity and Ghanaians rejected him, and NPP moving forward, needs to present a new winsome candidate. Akufo Addo's candidature is over. If NPP makes a mistake and present him again, with the likes of the Gabby Darko character, they should kiss the prospect of winning any elections in Ghana goodbye forever till Armageddon. There are a good number of candidates who can make the necessary impact and NPP needs to start looking at those prospects and bury the Akufo Addo candidature in the archives of history.
