I wasn't reading much of the articles during the weekend but according to Eurosports, the player picked up an old injury and now the knee is swallowing. Nothing could be done as at now until it goes down according to Horst Heldt, who is the sports director of Schalke.

Diamond, Kevin even wants to see if it could come down a little before he makes his decision on whether to come to Ghana or not. With this going on, I can't blame the player or his club. If we want to know the truth in his side, our medical team will have to ask for his x-rays and medical records to be sent to them through e-mails. This could be done and I think it has because GFA wouldn't go easily on any verbal medical reports.

Look at it this way, his team has paid a huge amount for his transfer from AC Milan. Do you want his club to loose money? What if he comes and plays for us and the injury becomes worse? Essien is an example and we still don't appreciate those efforts from these players. Remember, after the qualification matches, Champions League is at the corner. That was why they bought him. 15 million euros paid for a player for barely two months and you want the team to risk him whilst they have lots of matches to come? Would you do such a business deal?

Here is the history of that knee problem he is having.

It began March 18th 2009
he came back to play at April 4th 2009

The injury didn't appear again until just recently, 5 months ago, specifically, May 18th 2013. For that one, he came back in action on the 30th of May, 2013

September 24th 2013, it came back again and he returned to play after the following three days, which was 27th September 2013. If he doesn't get a surgery to correct it, his profession would be over before he realizes it. This is what some specialist are talking about in Europe here.

However, how can he get it fix when there are many games to play. According to them, he wants the season to be over before he does anything to it; otherwise, his team would have to go out there and buy another player whilst he is recuperating. What if he comes back and that player has taken control of his position? You know how long these knee injuries take, Diamond.

Bro, I understand your fears as I mentioned it the other day. On the contrary, Kevin is going through because he wants to play but his body isn't allowing him to do so at the moment. His club also is refusing to release him due to this injury. This has nothing to do with his faking. Remember, when the qualification matches are going on, most club matches would be closed and Bundesliga as included.

To me, I think we should pray more for him instead of calling him names. If he gets well and even not playing for us, he is still one of our own. I have give up of fighting battles I can't win. Besides, we have couple of players who can play his position in the coming matches. Hopefully, he gets the treatment needed to be ready for the WC 2014. That is where we will need him the most.

After all if Kevin is not available and so we can't beat Egypt, then there is no need of us going to the WC in the first place. Don't forget, he is only a single player among the numerous.

First he starts making injury excuses so he won't have to play for the stars after WC 2010. When he realizes the next WC is 4yrs away and can't keep using the same lame excuses, he decides to temporarily retire and make a return just in time for the next one. Playing have sacrificed sweat, tears and broken bones to play the qualifiers only for him to parachute onto the finish line. At the finish line, he won't even run to cross it. He only wants to join the celebrations. This is a shameless attempt to insult all of us.

Anyway, Kwesi Appiah would call him back so what am sayings here won't really matter.

Let us not be upset by the non-availability of Kevin Prince Boateng thinking that he is feigning injury. That he was substituted in the 2nd half during the Saturday German league match is a fact. If Kevin did not want to play for Ghana, he would not rescind his decision to resign from the team in the first place. And if he did not want to play any match in Ghana but just go to Brazil and play the WC, he would delay his decision to return to the team after we are well qualified. There is no reason why we should doubt his injury. Every footballer can be injured anytime and Kevin had been on and off injury several times before now so his injury is not strange. Let's rather wish him speedy recovery.
The good news however is that, we reached this stage without Kevin because we already have a solid team. With the return of Sulley and Essien, the team can only be better. The news is even better to realise that those called to camp are well focused and determined to win.

He will not be fully fit for the tournament. We cannot have a player sit on the sidelines for others play to qualify only for opportunists to jump in later on; that won't be fair to others. This where Michael Essien should be commended. He excused himself from all important games including WC-2010 in South Africa. Kevin Boateng should do the same; we don't need his services if he's not fit. That's the bottom line.
