The party that makes people suffer, the party that killed people, the party whose members and leader steal from ghanaian. The party who dont care about the safety of his people, the party who always say the country dont have more, the party who said Japan and China gave it 2 billion. The shameless party, do you know the party i am talking?

A man is driving down a deserted stretch of highway when he notices a sign out of the corner of his eye. It says, 'Sisters of Mercy House of Prostitution 15 km'.
He thinks it was just a figment of his imagination and drives on without a second thought. Soon, he sees another sign that says, 'Sisters of Mercy House of Prostitution 8 km' and realizes that these signs are for real. When he drives past a third sign saying, 'Sisters of Mercy House of Prostitution Next Right' his curiosity gets the better of him and he pulls into the drive.
On the far side of the parking lot is a sombre stone building with a small sign next to the door saying, 'Sisters of Mercy'.
He climbs the steps and rings the bell. The door is answered by a nun in a long black habit who asks, 'What may we do for you, my son?'
He answers, 'I saw your signs along the highway and was interested in possibly doing business.'
'Very well, my son. Please follow me.'
He is led through many winding passages and is soon quite disoriented. The nun stops at a closed door and tells the man, 'Please knock on this door.'
He does as he is told and this door is answered by another nun in a long habit and holding a tin cup.
This nun instructs, 'Please place $50 in the cup, then go through the large wooden door at the end of this hallway.'
He gets $50 out of his wallet and places it in the second nun's cup.
He then trots eagerly down the hall and slips through the door, pulling it shut behind him. As the door locks behind him, he finds himself back in the parking lot facing another small sign.
'Go in Peace. You Have Just Been Screwed by the Sisters of Mercy.'

SERIOUSLY, IT'S DRIVER DISCIPLINE, OR LACK OF IF THAT IS KILLING ON THE HIGHWAY. IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT HOW INTENSELY DRIVER EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO DRIVE IS IN ADVANCED COUNTRIES, YOU REALIZE THAT IN GHANA, WE ACTUALLY GIVING NEW LICENSES AS TICKETS TO DIE WITH. WE NEED TO HAVE ADEQUATE DRIVER TRAINING. THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LIKELIHOOD OF ACCIDENT WHEN YOU CHANGE LANE WITHOUT SIGNALLING WELL IN ADVANCE, BLIND SPOTS ETC. THESE ARE ALIEN TO MANY OF DRIVERS ON OUR ROADS. WE SHOULD STOP THE PRACTICE OF GETTING LICENSES THROUGH PEOPLE WE KNOW AT THE VELD OFFICE. THE WORSE THING IS A SINGLE BAD DRIVER ON THE ROAD COULD PUT INTO DANGER THE LIVES OF ALL ROAD USERS.

Well ! It's Kwasia wuo. I don't feel sorry for the people who decide to run across the path of speeding cars instead of using the walk ways and ebra crossings. They often misjudge the speed of the car approaching and get killed. This is all just to save a few minutes of using the walk ways.
The Government can also help by building more walk ways over this highway to reduce the distance that people have to travel to cross the road. But these shoe shine boys need to know that you cannot outrun a speeding car.

In Ghana we all know the problem but we do not want to tackle it but rather propound theories which are not tenable. The road is a motorway, so why are all these pedestrians crossing it the way they do. Even where there are overhead bridges, we do not use them. Nearby you see people running across the road, even women with children at the back and holding other children. We lack the patience to walk to the bridge even 50 meters away but prefer to run across the road with all the danger. Then we turn round to blame the drivers and the road. Where in the world do people cross the motorway except in Ghana and Africa? Even on other roads, we cross at any point expecting vehicles to stop for us. We sell in the middle of the roads making it difficult for drivers to maneuver. The police watch on and rather harass drivers for their "chop money" in spite of single spine. The National Road Safety Committee is busy spending money in the name of useless education. Education is nothing if laws are not seemed to be enforced. get the pedestrians off the road and the accidents will greatly reduce.

Safety measures must be put in place and the best one is to control the speed limit. There must be warning sign boards within short intervals for both pedestrains and motorists. There must be some traffic lights to allow older people to cross the street, children can also use the zebra crossings for safety. The NI Highway is situated in the middle of a populated area and cannot be used like motorway for cars to speed over 100 kph,it does not make sense at all.
The result is what we are reading now.Earlier the better, the speed limit should come down to 50 kph, that's my opinion. One thing also can help, the bridges but how do you expect old people and small kids to use them?Thank you.

The laziness kills, most of them are disregarding all safety measures taken, don't wait for traffic lights, cross through holes in fences, jump fencing etc.

Then how come that the city authorities cut part of the rails that are to prevent people from crossing the streets any how to cross and endanger their own lives. To prevent people loosing their lives let us all respect traffic and road regulations and save lives.

I think the N1 is great for driving. However, the problem mainly is with the attitudes of drivers and pedestrians. Pedestrians need to cross only at the lights and overheads (I agree there should be more overheads). They walk/run across at night thinking you, the driver, can see them and will slow down. Many trotro/taxi drivers cut across lanes of traffic at slow speeds to pick up/drop off a patron.
Please don't do anything stupid like put speed bumps on this road.
