This should not surprise anyone. The TUC leadership is made of old brats who think that to hold on to their failed position is to bash the Government as much as they can. What Ghanaians are asking is why the TUC is still moaning after a single spine that has brought our economy on its knees, the still want someone else to pay for their utilities. Govt. debts will not go away and the ealier this these grey heads got it the better it would be for the country. If they do not have any contribution to make to reshape the economy they should go and sleep.ABBAI!

Are you a Ghanaian at all? The people who were bringing the single spine did not finish with and they had to go away. What did the Government do before implementing the single spine pay policy? The only went ahead to implement out of political mischief. Now here they are, wanting to withdraw it back. Indeed if they want Ghanaians to pay more because they have implemented the single spine policy, ask yourself how many Ghanaians receive salary from the government? The monies they wasted during the election 2012 could have saved the country from what we see today.

The govt must remain resolute. The TUC can go on strike 100 times. Workers who join without proper permission should be dismissed.let's compare the tariffs with buying generator, candles etc. hypocrites

TUC SHOWING LEADERSHIP ,CUTS AND VISION AT TIME THAT OUR GOVRENMENT IS LOOKING THE OTHER WAY AND ALLOWING ILLEGAL UTILITY RATE HIKE OF 69% IMPOSE ON THE PEOPLE OF GHANA .
NO LEADER OR COUNTRY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD EVER ALLOWED SUCH HUGE UTILITY RATE HIKES TO BE IMPOSE ON THEIR PEOPLE ,MAHAMA NEED TO EITHER REPPEL THE RATE HIKE OR STEP DOWN AND GO BACK TO THE NORTH .
IN A TIME THAT THE ECONOMY IS BEING DESTROY BY MAHAMA AND NDC AND IN TIME THAT NDC TAX US TO DEATH WE MUST STAND TOGETER AND SAY NO
WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS AGAINST THE PEOPLE.
WE EITHER STICK TOGETER AS BROTHERS OR PARISH AS FOOLS ALONE ,TIME FOR GHANA PEOPLE TO WAKE UP AND BE UNITED

The approach by the TUC is in the right direction. We should not bear the brunt of the bad decisions taken by politicians because they hold power to administer the country.
The government and agreement with PURC deliberately delayed the application of tariff adjustment because of political expediency. Thinking of negative consequence of tariff increment in 2012, the government delayed its application because of the pending elections. The elections is over so it is convenient to apply now.
Tariffs have been increased in the past , though with hesitation from consumers but they have eventually accepted it in principle especially when there was the need for it. The percentage increases have not been astronomical during those circumstances as the current one.
In my view the present increase should be applied gradually to cover at least two months so that the impact will not hard to absorb. This is the approach the people expected. When a loan facility is taken from the bank, the repayment is spread over time so that it is manageable by borrowers.
All well meaning people should back the TUC to press for a reduction in the current increase.
