  The NHIS is not working and these people are going round telling lies. Go to La Paz Community hospital with NHIS card and see how quickly they attend to you these days. They even behave like you have offended them by coming with one. If you are willing to pay upfront you get a quick service. If you come with a card they will probably reluctantly take your details and give you a very slow service to discourage you from coming back. I know because it is happening to my relations. One probable reason is that it takes a long time to get re-imbursed. It is also common knowledge that clinics charge for things that they don't even provide and with the collusion of the officials at NHIS get paid. Just look at the life styles of even junior officials at the offices of the scheme and you know the usual tricks are making them rich.

  I am very disappointed in the NDC govt,my own party I worked for so many years.nothing seems not working because of some greedy people who infiltrated the party with all kinds of tricks to gain positions.Infact our party should have by this time improved upon what the NPP left,but we are still marching time with all sort of propaganda.

  The NPP administration within it's rather short tenure in office from 2000 to 2008, demonstrated that, they had the vision, the best policies and had the mental capacity, ability, acuity, the competence and the knowledge and the drive, to push Ghana to past it's boundaries in taking it's rightful place amongst the advanced comity of nations. The NHIS is an example of one of such far-sighted, visionary and forward thinking programs, which the NPP gov't implemented to remove the inimical, unprogressive and retrogressive programs of the P(NDC) gov't.
  It is on record that, under this inept NDC administration of the Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration, the NHIS has being experiencing some hiccups.
