This is one of the far-reaching effects of the shutdown of the U.S. Government on Ghana, and on the World economy. The Federal government cannot pay its bills simply because the U.S. is bankrupt, and compounded by Washington's political gridlock. This should serve as a serious warning to Ghanaians. Ghana is highly indebted. Ghana's growing foreign debt and debt-funded economy is perilously unsustainable.

It had been the strongest economy a long time ago. If it had not been for countries like China holding large amounts of their huge financial reserves in dollar, buying U.S. government bonds. Had it not been for the Dollar being the world currency for conducting international transactions and pricing the oil in dollar, then the USA would have not been able to compensate their large export deficit (they import more than they export).

9.So the question is, how can resources be used to benefit broad economic and social development and avoid the corruption and authoritarian rule?

to promote openness and transparency. In 2010-2011, Ghana started to export significant quantities of oil.

resource-rich countries becomes overvalued, and this hurts the exports of other industries.

If they decide not to allow the export of their industries to China and other places, they can be OK. The USA imports more because they can get it cheaper. Chinese goods are cheap.

Who says that there's no jobs in U.S ? You didn't go to college but you want a good job with better salary. Some people too like the unemployment benefits than working, especially the lazy guys. Paid for not working, given Food Stamps for not working, Students up to High School go to school for free and students from poor homes are fed twice a day at school for free, if you have no money but are sick, you go to the emergency room and are treated. I wish Ghana had good governments that gave such benefits. Uncle Sam is not bankrupt but are just pulling Obama down just like they did to Clinton but it backfired.

They are putting the world in deep debt by design so they can collapse the dollar and bankrupt as much of the globe as possible. Then they can scoop up everything for pennies on the dollar and pose as the savior and roll out their new currency which will be used to control us and what we buy and can not buy. They are all about deception and they use the corporate global media to bring their scams and lies to life- we can say they use the media to create reality
from their lies. Those who are interested in Constitutions or Constitutional law should take a deep interest in what is going on in the United States.

What the GOP is trying to do is to repeal the Obamacare Act by the back door. This is an Act which has been passed by Congress and is the law of the country. It has been adjudicated upon by the Supreme Court.

The way to repeal it if the GOP does not like it is to present a legislative Bill to Congress, have it debated and passed into law by congress and assented to by the President

What they are doing now is a new way of repealing laws. They are using Congress power to authorize funding of government to defund the Obamacare law which they do not like. This is new and must be resisted by the Democrats and President Obama.It is unconstitutional
